Ducati Performance High Screen

  1. Hi folks.

Does anyone have a decent pic of the DP High Screen fitted to an 848 or 1098/1198? I'm shopping around for options at the moment and like the idea of the higher screen but keeping the single profile as some double bubble styles are quite "obvious" looking. From what I can see online the DP taller screen is 30mm higher but retains the single profile shape.

I may still opt for a subtle double bubble type but reckon I'd rather get a single profile if I can. I can't find any decent pics of the DP one online and am not sure about getting a dark tint screen so was wondering if anyone could assist?

Also wondering about the Radical Ducati version - dark at the base then clear at the top but again in a single profile. Has anyone ordered anything of them? How was it for waiting time etc.?

    Cheers.

  3. Never heard of that problem in my life... weird. I'll take that with a pinch of salt I think! :)

It's really a single profile I'm after but my reason is I found the clocks were obscured a little (just enough to be annoying) so I don't want a stock profile one if I do replace the OE one. Higher ones that aren't double bubble or the horrible looking flip types are proving hard to track down though...

  4. I have one. I'll upload it tomorrow.

  5. Brilliant!

    Thanks for this.

  6. i wouldn't if I were you. My ex-next door neighbour fitted double bubbles to two bikes (Blade RR4 & GSXR1000k5) and he ended up with melted clocks both times. But it's up to you

  7. I have high lift race screens for mine, makes huge difference.

  8. Melted dashes from double bubble screens is not uncommon. I have heard of it more than a few times on a variety of different makes.

  9. Hmmmm....... I have had double bubbles on my Daytona, ZXR, GSXR and never had any problems. I have just purchased a powerbronse dark tint double bubble for the ducati and it looks far better than the stock goldfish bowl item. I honestly cannot see how it would ever get hot enough to melt the clocks up here in north west england. I ridden down to benidorm in August etc and never had any issues with a double bubble screen. Just my experience..........

  10. The trip to Benidorm was on the GSXR with a double bubble iridium screen and it was damn hot down there.

  11. I have to agree but it's more aesthetics that make me want a single profile screen as DB's are quite hit and miss.

I'll see what I can see in the flesh when I'm in picking my bike up and take it from there. What I am really after is a slightly taller than stock, single profile light tint or clear screen. Without it being bonkers tall or too out of sync with the rest of the lines. You'd think that'd be easy to find eh? :)

  12. I hummed and ahhhh'd about a screen for a while too. The powerbronze double bubble on ebay @ £40 delivered swung it for me (well packaged and speedy delivery) even came with a finishing strip. I think they have a few dark tints and light tints remaining at that price. I am 6ft4" and found the stock screen next to useless lol.

  14. That's the one aye. Thanks for the pics! I'll have a think over it now I know what it looks like. Not sure how a dark tint would look with the Corse. It'll either be perfect or too much black.

Cheers for the link to the Powerbronze one too. I'll check it out. :)

    Thanks folks. :)

  15. Believe they did a clear one as well.

  16. Dark and iridium screens may not do it, but I can confirm that clear ones definitely do. Even in the grim north.

  17. I ran the DP screen on my 1098 and found it very effective. Looks good to as it still follows the lines of the fairing. I've also heard about clocks getting scorched. Not seen it first hand, but I believe it's not that the screen gets hot, it's where or how it focuses sunlight......bit like a magnifying glass.

  18. I had a double bubble screen on a zx9 I once owned. I had to take it off as it made it weave once the speed was up . It was terrible on the dual carriage way.

  19. Thanks everyone.

I don't see a clear DP one anywhere online other than the double bubble, but I'll ask the dealer when I'm in. Quite liking the pic above though!

    :)
