  3. Hi,

Just collected my 959 Corse last week, after first service and having underbelly exhausts fitted.

Complete list of mods so far,
    • Underbelly exhausts
    • Remove pillion pegs
    • Corse seat cowl
    • Evotech tail tidy
    • Evotech rear paddock bobbins
    • DP black anodised reservoirs - why isn't there a rear one? cash waiting!

...still waiting on delivery of carbon tank pad, and longer bolts to fit lower rad guard.

The 1000km to 2500km <7K revs running-in limit seems excessive ...but I will do it by book.

Already loving the bangs on closing throttle with the new pipes, and of course, they look eleventy-billion times better.

Loving the matt paint job too.

  4. Longer bolts for the Rad guard? Is is an Evotech? Mine came with the bolts that go into the side fairing.

Rear brake reservoir: aren’t they the same as the clutch reservoir? Can you not just buy another of those?

Running-in is as much for the gearbox as the motor. Well worth taking the time to do it properly.

  5. The rad guard is the DP one, it came with bolts but my dealer told me they weren't long enough (?) so he had to order longer ones - they did try and fit it, I saw, and they had to take it off again

Ah, my dealer didn't tell me the reservoirs were the same - thanks for the tip!

Definitely running it in carefully, but 1553 miles does seem a long period - good to know I'm not the only one who does it by the book!

    Cheers.

  6. Seems strange. I remember that those bolts (assuming out the side into the fairing) are a complete pain to get to take and start screwing in. I’m sure your dealer is more than capable though.

I don’t know the reservoirs are exactly the same without checking, but even it they are not it should still be possible to make them work. Have a look.

  7. btw, I just looked, and they are very different - the rear is much smaller and has different mount and exit points - but thanks for suggestion.

  8. On both my 1299 and 1199 the clutch and rear brake reservoirs are the same.

  9. Are you comparing the replacement clutch with standard rear brake though?!.... I’m sure they are the same size, with a side mount and a bottom exit tube.

  10. I thought they were.

The V4S is bloody amazing. So fast. Pulling past S1000RR’s purely on the gas. Hilarious!

  17. Here's my 959 Special Edition (number 15 of the 25), without luggage at The Bike Shed, with, in a car park off the autostrada in the north of Sicily somewhere. You can see the lowering link I've fitted, I've gradually been adjusting it back up as I've got more confident with having one foot down only. sicily pani.jpg bike shed pani.jpg
