Off to play on a Panigale

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by 998gsb, Apr 14, 2012.

  1. I've just been out for a play on the
Penigale. Absolutely awesome bit of kit
So smooth and easy to ride for a big
    V-twin!!
As for dealers I've found my local Ducati
dealer more than helpful. I let them know
I was interested around Christmas time
and they have kept me informed as to
when they were having their bikes &
demo bike in. Although I had told them
I wouldn't be buying one this year it
would probably be next year didn't seem
to deter them from getting me on a bike
    and having a good play!
I phoned the dealer on thursday & have
had a good play today. I'm glad I did!
I suggest you do the same, you won't
    be disappointed

  2. C'mon d8mok, If a customer buys 3 bikes off you in 5 years that's more than the norm at Ducati prices, yes I do expect them to look after me a little bit better. You spend £60K with a business and call on them twice, at least you expect a phone call to offer a ride or invite you to a launch? Not too much now is it ;-)

  3. Why did you buy 3 bikes of them if the customer service is so bad?

  4. The service was OK from then when I bought the bikes, it's not OK now though is it?

  5. If you dont ask you dont get

  6. I understand your logic, and i agree. But all im saying that in a sales job sometimes there isnt logic.

Ive purchased 3 ducati's in a 12 month period, from different dealers. Just put your business to whoever wants a deal.

  7. Royum, If I was you I`d do two things.

    a) Have a good rant  (already done).

    b) Spend it on an A5 instead

  8. Roy, I love the fact your receiving advice on the intricacies of business/sales.

  9. How exactly did my thread end up in a diatribe on crap sales service from dealers... ? All I said was i was going for a play on a Panigale!!!

  10. And ???????????

  11. It was too noisy.

  12. All entitled to an opinion Glen and they don't know me............

Oops sorry Gav, I just thought you wouldn't mind as the alternative discussion on you falling off your test ride would've embarrassed you :)

  13. You appear to be in fine form Mr. Carter....... your wit is so sharp its a wonder you dont cut yourself to ribbons....

My views on the Panigale coming shortly.... just busy at the minute..... and before you say anything Roy, no im not busy aralditing bits of fairing back together you cheeky bastard!

  14. snigger

  15. Give WM Snells at Alton a call, may be a long drive (don't know where you are) but worth the extra fuel :)

  16. The moment you end up with a classic dealership with salesmen you start to run into problems. I have almost only ever dealt with small firms for my bikes and cars, where the guy selling you the thing is in some way connected with ownership of the business - usually it's his.

I was once a mystery shopper for 3 different big car firms. The differences in service and interest in me as a potential customer were incredible. The bigger the dealership, the worse it was. Always. Best firm was one that had a crap garage and almost no stock, but they lived and breathed the brand.

  17. When's the review coming?!

  18. yeah! Stuff all this dealer nonsense. I'm waiting for the review!

  19. I put it up yesterday!!
