1198 luggage

Discussion in '848 / 1098 / 1198' started by fujack, Feb 15, 2013.

  1. Any recommendations and pictures and cost on luggage

  2. You get one then? That SP you were offered ;-)

  3. Ventura seems to be the tried and trusted. Not sure on prices but they offer a few versions. Used their system on my 748 and it worked very well. Don't really see anything but their racks on SBK's that come thru the workshop.

  4. I've always had one it was for a mate

  5. I use a Ventura pack and rack on my 1198S

Not cheap but really quick to get on an off the bike. Picked my Rack and L-Brackets up on eBay and I already had the bag.

    Here's another solution

Looks like he's attached the Ducati pannier racks to Ventura L - Brackets with a grab rail

  6. The panniers on that are hideous ! When it's taken off the indicators are 4 feet wide ...

  7. Moved to Superbike

  8. Kriega stuff is the best I've ever used. It'll fit onto an 1198 fine and is removable and super practical.

I wouldn't be able to bring myself to fit brackets etc. to a sportsbike.

  11. The kriega stuff is modular too, have the 20ltr as pic's above but also 2x10ltr ones that just clip on to the big one. No pic's as just got it but did a test fit and its so easy to put on/take off

  12. Only issue on Kriega is that the backpacks aren't all waterproof and the soft packs can rub your paintwork, otherwise I'd say amongst the best out there. Oxford have a range of rip-off alike Kriega luggage that might be worth a look and the Scandinavian kit I've had has been excellent. Jofama, Halvarssons etc very warm and weatherproof.

  13. There's pics on my blog page of my gsxr loaded up but I can't add them here as I've not got access to the laptop this weekend. Sorry.

I've never had an issue with rubbing the paint and use a Kriega bag liner for my R35 so my kit is always dry. The tail packs are designed to sit on the pillion pad or extend outwards / upwards so they should be up out of the way from the tail unit I'd have thought?

Like Colz said too, it's modular so you can add more if you want and then use what parts suit each different trip. It's endlessly flexible, tough as anything and works brilliantly. It's still soft luggage so has those limitations over boxes but for me it's exactly what I want. And when you get to where you're going it clips off in seconds putting the bike back in attack mode easily. :)

  14. Anyone know where I can get a tow bar fitted to me Ferrari 458? Ta...

  15. Eh?

  16. I'll have some 18 inch rims and 30 section tyres for my series 3 Landrover then.
