I've always had a never buy new policy and look for a one or two year old model but I'm seriously thinking about ponying up for a 959 Corse. I'm not sure I'm 100% sold on the livery vs. the traditional red, have any of you gone for the Corse, is it worth the extra £££? Ducati Aylesbury have a few tasty morsels in, I just can't get on with the look of the white so it's Red or Corse for me. Thanks
I love the look of the Corse but still don’t get the 16k price tag - surely they’ve only sold about 10 at list.
That's the one, I agree the price is high..Öhlins NIX30 fork, Öhlins TTX36 shock absorber and a Ti Akra system will do it. I'm minded to keep powder dry and see what happens waving £££ notes in January does.
The 675R has those components, is far cheaper and faster, but I would rather have the Duc purely based on aesthetics - that can would have to go though!
I know the double shotgun has come under some flack but after a while you get used to it, to the point where I kinda liked it on my previous 959, it grew on me.
I’m told Ducati Aylesbury have a new stock 959 in at £12k. I bought a cancelled order off them last year (£11,995) with a 4 year warranty (another couple of hundred) and had the öhlins nix30 cartridge kit fitted along with a second hand ttx shock (£1,900 including the cost of the shock, servicing the shock and changing the spring, and purchase/fitment of the cartridge kit). I also purchased a 1299 exhaust and lower fairings in here for £500. I had exactly the bike I wanted for the rrp of a stock 959. Not the option for everyone, but the one I chose.
The Corse (at £16,500 or whatever it is) comes with the Akra side pipes. If you want the under belly Akra it is another couple of grand (although there is a deal to add them for £800 at the minute).

The Tri-Options caught my eye, as I said earlier I don't mind the twin exhaust. I'm not a fan of the 959 in Matt White and Red Wheels the Corse colour scheme is beautiful but wish it was gloss not matt. Sensible brain is saying wait until the New Year then make a move. One thing about Ducati Aylesbury, I think they're good but whoever takes the bikes on a PDI run must be going through cow fields, the state of that rad on the Tri..or I'm just a picky sod
Definitely wait till the end of the year if you can and try getting the best possible deal at that time.
You may not mind the look of the shotgun exhaust, but if you ride with the pegs on the balls of your feet (how I was taught to ride), you will get fed up of banging your right heel on them. A lot of people have the same thought about buying in the new year, so business at that time probably isn’t that bad. The next two months I would say are the best for getting a deal, because nobody buys a bike they aren’t going to ride for 4 months...
100% ... The Corse looks stunning in the flesh with Matt finish. And think it's the best Rep paint job in production without all the race stickers and stripes if that makes sense.... Love it
there will be a lot of bits available soon from 1199 and 1299 bikes when people start parting before up grading to the V4. Buy a base and then start gathering special bits for it, that's what I did and you get a custom with exactly what you want.
I can't believe I'm even thinking about this but I've been spending some time researching the V4, sold the XSR if I sell my 2 classic beemers I may just scrape the base model, the missus would kill me mind!
