  1. G'day

I know this is a open ended question!!...I'll be Coming over from Australia to the IOM TT and will be in London for 5 days pre race week TT then coming back to Liverpool to then head off for ten days or so touring the UK.
My question is what bike related things would people recommended that I should not miss or are worth a visit.. Unfortunately I'll not be on my ST4...:frown:

  2. Ace Cafe, maybe on a Sunday when there's an event on, check their website for whats on.

  3. The London motorcycle museum may interest you if you're into old british clunkers. Tis only a small place, but pretty interesting.

  4. I'd pop into JHP on the way to Liverpool for sure, tour Scotland and the Lake District if you want scenery and good roads

  5. Try not to loiter too long in Liverpool...

  6. ...don't stop moving lol

  7. Be there Friday night, much better  By better, I mean crazier

  8. Has the whole Chelsea Bridge thing died out?

I lived just next to Chelsea Bridge for some years and never saw anything going on.
Or was it the wrong bridge?

  9. The last I heard of Chelsea bridge is when I went there as a teenager on my RD250, dunno if anything happens there nowadays, probably policed into extinction.

  10. Why not? Liverpool is one of the finest cities in the world to visit.

  11. Indeed. Things only go downhill if you have to live there.

  12. Yeah, it's right up there with Paris, Tokyo, New Yoik and...err...Beirut:upyeah:

  13. i have lived and worked in a few cities in England and Liverpool was by far the best and the people are wonderful.
Maybe you have had a bad experience there at some time Figaro but you are so wrong.

  14. When I was new in Liverpool one of my more amusing Liverpudlian colleagues told me: "People in Liverpool are the nicest people in the world. Either that, or they'll burgle your house, steal your TV and rape your wife."

Fortunately, I met a lot more of the former. And yes, the people really are genuinely funny.

    (they'd have to be...)

  15. I had a fairly major punch-up in Liverpool years ago purely on the strength of my accent (basically, four blokes decided to kick my head in cos I spoke funny). That kind of thing tends to put you off a place.

  16. I very nearly had a punch up in Liverpool when a few West Ham supporters accosted me on a Saturday afternoon in a quiet back street and demanded to know "the time". I could see it was just a prelude for the hugely amusing fist in the face. They were looking for a hapless scouser.

So I told them the time in my best London accent, they looked bemused, thanked me, and melted away.

  17. I had a similar, but less extreme experience in Liverpool, well, bootle. I did a show at the RAF base there, and found a considerable quantity of local people who were less than welcoming to a soft southerner with a slightly posh accent (apparently)

  18. Try the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham. Well worth a visit.
