I have Some clearance between the starting position of the throtle handle and when you really hear that the engine respons. So i have to twist like 1/2 cm so i want to try to resolve that, i want to have a direct response On the throtle
Standard or race map? I had a Domino quick action throttle on mine with Termi slip-ons and Evo map. I don’t recall there being any issues with the low-down throttle response.
5mm is a bit much free play you should have 1.5mm-2mm of free play, try adjusting your throttle cables to achieve this.
if you are with a standard throttle and cable you would need to adjust the cable outers to take up the slack.. can you post a piccie of your throttle body end of the cables? i think there will be a bit of adjustment on the two cables there, remember to adjust them both evenly.
As chrisw suggests, the R1 throttle mod is really popular amongst 999 owners but I don’t know if it works with a 1098 as well. The main idea is that it has a slightly faster throttle action but a big bonus is that it seems to eliminate play in the cables. This makes opening from a closed throttle enormously more predictable, making the bike much smoother and nicer to ride.
