You can subscribe to the channel Andrew. Bikeworld Nothing for a few weeks now, but they could just be getting a few parts together?
Did that after Part 1! Just that Part 2 followed on quite quickly, but as you say nothing for a few weeks. Perhaps they're looking for the other piggy bank!
Interesting that the technical director said that the bore and stroke of the engine in the Desmosedici is now banned in MotoGP as it is too extreme.
What a machine! I think anyone who owns one should give everyone on the forum one ride each. What do you think Rob?
I want to shake his hand. Look at the evolution from his beginnings in 1988 to now. An absolute unsung legend.
Apart from the monster, the MHR-whatever-thingy, the multi, the SF, the Diaval and the Scrambler. (50/50 on the Hyper).
Crikey didn't even prime the oil filter first. That;s bad practice for a race engine and should have primed it with the plugs removed.
I was surprised that he didn't add some oil to the filter. On a horizontally mounted filter, I can usually get it about half full without it pouring out when I fit it.
Yes and even just priming the paper filaments helps before hand. This is stuff that normal mechanics are not taught, I would have lost my arm if I had done that on building a race unit.
I thought they cranked it without plugs to get oil pressure up (and thus oil to the top/remote parts of the engine)? Fair comment about the oil filter though - as @Robarano says, they could have got some in.
