Hi - in my experience, the Hyper is great 2-up. Luggage can be difficlut for touring, but not impossible. The only thing it lacks (compared to me previous 'tourer' (Fazer 6000 is the ability to add a top-box. That gave my fiancee a more relaxed ride, being able to lean back. However handling and comfort for the pillion is really good on the hyper. Stevie
Ironically ive been taking a pillion every day this week (my daughter) 14 years old and close to a fully grown adult (just to give an insight on her build). My journey is from one side of Bristol, right the way through the centre, out the other side to the zoo (her work experience placement) and its fine for crawling through low speed heavy traffic. The nicest thing about it is no matter what - it doesn't overheat....testament to Tuesday (hottest day of the year so far) in the middle of rush hour traffic, central Bristol and it didn't nudge about 3 bars out of 7. Its even easier to ride 2 up when going faster (over some of the more main roads in Bristol that let you get up to speed) A couple of years back I was a pillion on my own hyper (not this one) where me and a friend went over to south wales to pick up his new bike and that was fine also, id even say probably better than mine I have now as the old evo I had, had the grab rail on the back - mine current one doesn't...
Not enough room in my experience - very awkward. You end up pushed up against the tank. My advice would be to get rid of the pillion pegs - then you can't be asked. If you do follow my advice I have a set of carbon fibre heel guards that fit where the pillion pegs were (Hyper 1100).
