Well, just had a phone call and the car has been found and is on its way to the compound for finger printing etc, not sure how I am feeling about this, no idea as yet of any damage but I don't want it back, told the wife and she certainly doesn't want to see it again, what a bloody mess.
I can understand you not wanting it back. Though I am glad the theiving pond scum mfkers don't have your car anymore.
It's not discrimination, Gypos are thieving bastards - fact! How else do they earn a living?, by running as honest legitimate company registered scrap dealers? The police have nationwide figures showing that when travellers turn up the crime rates in that area snowball and when they manage to get rid of them crime settles back down again. The police will never release these figures because they'll be accused of discrimination even though the figures speak for themselves.
We felt the same, but didn’t want to ‘give in to the thieving bastards ‘if you get my meaning. Kept it for a while then part exchanged it.
Not sure how this works now with the insurance as the car is now stolen recovered, i am guessing because the insurance have not paid out it would not be on the register ?. All if's and but's at the moment because i have no idea of the state of the car, wish they would find my van.
I think the word scum is inappropriate in this case. Scum rises to the top, think politicians CEO's Oligarchs etc. The thieves who stole these vehicles are the dregs.
You need to make the distinction between gypsies/romani travellers and irish travellers. Its thr latter that are the issue. The former are rarer nowadays and decent on the whole. The latter are parasites in my experience as ive never had a positive experience of them. They skew peoples perception of genuine gypsies.
A friend was done like that 3 years ago nicked his Audi and his bike and kit. His mrs and young kids were in the house sleeping as well , he had a camera covering his front and back doors so he knew who it was. He rounded the "lads" up that evening he stayed at home with the police and his mrs and told them were to find this low life and behold they found him with his car and bike with a few mates. They proceeded to break both hands and fingers and all toes and tattooed "there way " thief in thick capital letters on his Tefal forehead ... the others were just beaten properly as you do. To this day he walks with a limp has a scared forehead and cant hold anything properly .... he wont be doing that again !!! Glad you and yours are ok it can so easily turn out quite different ... im sitting in the office 20 miles from home and can see the front , back and inside my house on my phone.
The frustrating thing is, these shit heads are so cocky and brazen about it. I know a guy who was selling a KTM crosser and they actually phoned him to announce they were coming to nick his bike. And they promptly did just that the following night. Chainsaw time. Don’t need a license for them and can’t think of a better ‘deterrant’ along with my dogs. We all fantasise about inflicting a grisly end for these turds but unfortunately their win ratio is far higher than ours. Very, very infuriating. Hope you get sorted soon.
The majority of society in Hitler's Germany would have agreed that Gypsies were subhuman too. You're in good company. Edit: That's a bit much, I'm not calling you a Nazi. But seriously, these people have been persecuted for a long time, and it's not fair to assume all gypsies are criminals because some of them are.
And there is the rub. What is considered criminal in one society (fighting to the death over infidelity, we've seen the Bond movies...) isn't in another.
I share your anger as we had some scrotes nick a push bike and other stuff from a shed last week. Several hundred quid. Naively I went to the local cop shop to get a crime number only to find no public access and a note to report online, which I did. One auto reply confirming the report followed by another auto reply with crime number. Same process with the insurance, all online. We then got a human call from the insurance company to tell us we'd be receiving a camera to install inside the home linked to the router so we can monitor the front door (a marketing exercise similar to putting boxes in your car). I've already decided to put cctv externally. We live in a small village where the influence of drug pedlars is all too obvious. It was half term last week and there were two lads no older than 17 totally smacked on their backs in the lane where I live at 0730. They're driven to get cash to buy the gear and no doubt they or others nicked our property. There is no policing of theft and burglary below a certain threshold and the criminal gangs know they can get their stooges to pretty much steal to order with impunity. They case locations and send address and gps data to them to act on. Even if you have cctv and the evidence, there is little chance of any meaningful action being taken. All this devolves recovery and recompense to the insurance companies with the result we all pay significantly higher premiums and the government take higher insurance tax income. Crime, in the form of theft and burglary is now widely accepted as the norm. It's feasible today to link your home security systems direct to a chosen insurer so they could effectively verify a crime, estimate your losses and pay for non-recovered items without any human intervention. How long before it too becomes the norm? The annoying thing is that many of the organised crime/drug gangs (referred to in posts above) are known. You'd like to think that at some level the Police are trying to nail them whatever cultural or ethnic background. Neighbourhood watch could take on all sorts of new guises.
I also live in a small village but in Bedfordshire close to the Bucks border. Less than 40 properties in the village and a fair few have been burgled, more have seen footage on CCTV of scrotes looking for entry points not to mention that we all worry about travellers turning up and occupying the fields or park etc. We were burgled 2 years ago and after that I hired a security guard to be there while I was at work for the week it took to get various security systems in place as my wife was terrified of coming home from work . On the day of the burglary the guy was still in the house when she got home from her morning job. Once cameras were in and she new I was checking that all was ok as she got home she relaxed a little. Anyway, hiring a guard did make me consider discussing this with others in the village as I imagine it would be possible to have 24/7 cover for the whole village for the price of a valve clearance and belt change service per household each year. Even less if there were say 100 houses and they all chipped in. I wonder if this is the way things will go in future with individual streets or villages paying for private security ? Peace of mind and maybe lower insurance premiums too . The way things are at the moment I can`t imagine the police being properly funded or breaking off from chasing offensive comment makers on the internet so we either find an alternative or put up with it. Lots pay for private health & private education, perhaps private security on a larger scale is next ?
Follow you on this. Meetoo as in burglary is down the priority list. Bit left field but the insurers already have reduced premiums for onboard cctv and smartboxes in cars. It may not be long before there is also a human security option for residential areas. The gangs that have arrived in the last 10 years have zero moral values and came here because they suddenly could and they'd bled their own patch dry. The remedy in #114 is their way of life.
