Still not emamoured with the way the bike looks. I do like the S Corse colour scheme though. I understand form follows function and all that but just can't warm to it. Give me time. I'll get some pics when I see it this coming weekend.
Looks like price on ducati.it €39,900 Anyone know UK price yet? Will it come with race exhaust kit like it normally does with the R?
Don’t forget to add the WTO trade tarrif to the price (for when we fall out of the EU with no trade deal)!
Looks nice enough (better than v4s anyways). But will likely be spanked by new Sthou, which is circa £18-20k for base model. Ducati charge premium for what isnt necessarily a premium product anymore. Other manufacturers offer better value on machines that have actually won stuff. However, if it does win everything, then its money well spent. Thats just the way things are. But Gen 2 had better clean up otherwise its just a tarts handbag. Like my v2 pani.
When it comes to performance motorcycles it’s not really about need though. I would argue that my 180bhp bike is more practical and compliant on the road than any of the <150bhp bikes I’ve owned
Riding bikes should be about fun first and foremost IMHO. And to be honest i have had more fun on bikes with less power as you can ride them harder. Our overcrowded roads are making riding in traffic, even on a bike, a chore.
Completely agree. The gearing on my SuperDuke means I can push the limits in the first 3 gears and stay within the legal limits - just about! On the other hand my 675 and 899 would encourage me to treat every journey like a GP race, they weren’t nearly as content bumbling about as more powerful bikes.
The argument about not using the power is a ridiculous one as well. Anyone who is using full throttle is using all the power and that is pretty much anyone above mid inters level. UK tracks are pretty small so there's not many where you are vmax but you are certainly hard on it in the first five gears and most people will gear down to use all that is available where needed.
