That,s an insult to us old codgers. I have never used a bench grinder on mine, always the angle grinder. Oh & the sides of the tyres too.
The more track days ones does, the more one is taken aback by the investment many people do make in a track toy.
Glad people like yourself do take them to the place where they were designed to be used. Far more this than it ending up in a glass cabinet or even worse at The Bike Specialists being sold for a premium. I cannot afford to do it but when i turn up to a trackday on my 853 its awesome to see these bikes being used as they should ( and even better when i get past one on track ).
TBF 35k (in your money) does not seem like a whole lot of change for something right at the cutting edge and in the zeitgeist. If my latest build project gets the green light (above) I’m gonna order one to celebrate (may even complete this time). I should get the nod in a week or so!
They have to be road legal for WSBK and BSB homologation. Same goes for the price: WSBK has a rule that the base road bike has to be something like <Eu40k in all markets, hence why it's priced at £35k in the UK In reality, if you compare it to the price of a Speciale, it's more like a £50k bike A good buy to anyone with an order in as it looks like it's gonna be a mega bike I don't normally really consider buying the R model, but my Wallet has been twitching a bit for the last day since seeing the pics and the Specs Like Royalwithcream says, it's a tough thing to justify, as you won't be able to use it at many UK tracks, it's way too expensive to race, and once you add the race kit to make it full power/low weight, it's going to be a £40-£45k toy If it has the performance of a HP4 race, which is proven to be an easy way to buy a few seconds per lap, but costs £68k, maybe the Pani-R a bargain ? Either way, to me that's a lot of money, and I already have a really nice race bike that owes me £25k+
So all of a sudden, because it’s the R, it doesn’t look like the pig dog the standard V4 and V4S was called when they were launched? #justsaying
I like the V4S, went as far as a test ride but it’s too track focused for me - I only do a few every year. Still think the 1299 is prettier though - smoother more ascetically pleasing lines. The V4 seems to be more function over form, but that’s never bothered me.
I cant stand the sight of the V4S .... not sure why, it just doesnt do it for me. However I think this looks fantastic ..... maybe the subtle changes, the colour scheme. I don’t know, but I like it!
