998 748/916/996/998 Pierobon Monoposto Subframes

Discussion in '748 / 916 / 996 / 998' started by JoeC, Nov 14, 2018.

  1. I am in the process of negotiating with Pierobon to have a series of 748/916/996/998 aluminium subframes commissioned as the original as fitted to my 998 is damaged. These have been out of production for a number of years so Pierobon are having to re-start production as a bespoke order.
I am having to have a minimum of five made to make the excercize commercially viable for each of us (Pierobon & myself that is, not me and some of you guys). I will be using two of the finished items and thus will have a minimum of three surplus available.
Is there any interest in the others from members on here who still have the horrible biposto subframe but everything else monoposto? A chance to create the look as intended by Tamburini!
PM me please if so and I will forward on the communications from the very lovely Silvia at Pierobon.
This is obviously not a cheap excercize but believe it or not cheaper than Ducati list the now discontinued item which for me makes it a flyer!

  2. Roughly what sort of price are we looking at? Thanks

  3. For an order of five they would be approx 800€ each, 6/666, 5/571 etc.

  4. OK Thanks.

  5. Joe, I'm no expert on this, are there more than 1 type of mono-subrame for the 9**? The ECU mounting position which differs?

  6. They are all the same I am led to believe. The larger P8 ecu mounting lugs are cast into the later model sub-frames, but remain un-used.
Clealy, I would expect Pierobon to confirm this (and any other details), prior to manufacture.

  7. @duc996bp Is right there are 2 types, one fitted to the 996sps and ones fitted to the 748r are different.

  8. Yes, there are 2 different ones, I had this problem looking for a frame for my bike.

  9. And if you have a biposto its different fittings IIRC

  10. The biggest problem I had was moving the loom around to fit, other than that you will need some longer bolts for the exhaust hangers, different fittings for the rear light and a monoposto undertray (I may have a carbon one for sale :D)

  11. Like I said I would expect Pierobon to confirm exactly which models will be covered before commiting to the order otherwise there would be a few red faces. My bike is a 998 so I am specifically having these produced for me, and I have all the other bits necessary. If you do sell the c/f undertray, I would be interested (price dependent) in it!

  13. Think thats for the P8 ecu

  14. Now we are getting somewhere. Like I said in the earlier post; Pierobon tell me that the subframe can carry the earlier (P8?) ecu on the two lugs provided, or they can remain un-used as with the later type ecu, fitted at the battery box as with my 998 etc!

  15. So no good for the 748r then.

  16. Is that a question or a statement?
If it's a question and you have a 748R in need of a subframe; [email protected] would be the right place to ask it.
If it's a statement and you don't have a 748R in need of a subframe; I have no idea and it's irrelevant as the 748R is already a monoposto and I was asking if anyone wanted to convert their biposto! ;)

  17. Yeah good point ,i was thinking along the lines if anyone had damaged one or wanted a spare.

  18. Fair enough point, reading that back I probably sounded stressy, not intended, need more sleep!
