1200 DVT Anyone Know Of A Clutch Cover..er Cover?

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by stooby, Jul 20, 2016.

  1. I bought a pair of Sidi Goretex adventure boots recently. Lovely things. However, I have noticed that when I'm holding the bike on the back brake the boot is touching the clutch cover. In fact there is a screw on the boot that has gouged the paint. I'm trying to find a simple cover that will cover the scratches and prevent further damage however I haven't found anything. I've found whole engine case covers which look horrible and simple stick on carbon covers for other bikes but nothing for the DVT. Anyone have any ideas?

  3. what if its holding his boot together?

  4. Ahhhhh ! That's a different problem ??? Didn't think if that.

  5. I'll be looking to see if I can do anything with the boot. In the absence of a cover does anyone know of a paint that I might be able to touch up the scratches?

  6. Did you ever get an answer to this? I wear Sidi adventures and have exactly the same problem!

  7. Helicopter tape apparently.

  8. Do you have to wind it round and round??

  9. Nah!.....you just stand there holding the reel, the machine does the rest.

  10. Bit late once it's already damaged.

  11. Must get some then...

  12. Nah never found anything suitable. It hasn't gotten any worse but the scratches are still there.

  13. Hi. I have the same boots and this happened to my last multistrada I had (13 plate GT). When I got my new multistrada (67 plate)I put some paint protection tape on the clutch cover and took the burr off the plastic cover that covers the screw on the boot, if that makes sense?.

  14. Use a coloured one then in that case ;)

  15. What I'd like is the paint code, but I don't think anyone has been able to find it.

  16. Just found this on Ducati.ms. Apparently that's 50,000 miles worth of trouser rubbing...I think I'll stop worrying and live with my little bare patch.

  17. doesn't RG do something?

  18. I followed a link to the US RG Site. They have a cover for $120 or so.

  19. R&G do a complete cover for the right side plus some protection tapes for the frame
