Given that the Tories have 318 MPs, and probably less than 100 of them are Brexiteers, it would seem likely that a Remainer will get the job?
As I said, back to square one, a fresh PM ( remainer) is likely to follow the same route as May, which no one will vote for.
EVERYONE'S happiness has nothing to do with it,that's why the Torys promised a Referendum to ask the people to make the decision. The result of the referendum was that the majority of those who voted wanted to leave the EU and those institutions outlined by Cameron before the Referendum,i.e,the single market, the customs union etc etc. The choice was very simple and didn't need much understanding because Cameron told us what we were leaving, and the government leaflet painted the gloomiest picture possible, Yet the majority still voted to leave! Remainers claim that they can see into the future and describe some sort of hell on earth even worse than that described by the leaflet, Osbourne,Hammond,Carney,Soubry and everyone else who didn't want this result. But remainers can't see into the future,no one can...their predictions are their imagination ,fuelled by people who they want to believe are smart enough to see in the future,(who also do not have the power to foresee what will happen). And leavers can't see into the future...their predictions are based on their imagination,PARTIALLY fuelled by people who leavers want to believe are smart enough to see into the future.Which they can't,no one can). Both groups also have years of experience of membership to help formulate their opinion, and the difference is that remainers enjoy being members, while leavers do not. Leavers are fortunate that every prediction made by all of the above remain sages, plus those like the IMF,the World Bank, the big companies that whispper in the ear of their favourite politicians, have been spectacularly and completely wrong. Those terrible cries of wolf from those whose wealth and power is dependent on EU membership do not however guarantee a rosy future outside the EU.But leavers were already warned of the armageddon to come before the referendum,so any subsequent wailing is meaningless. The die has been cast,(or it should have been, had Cameron not bottled it,broken his promise to invoke Article 50 immediately, and then baled out like the typical gutless scum that nest like vipers in Westminster and Whitehall). Instead we have had the biased media, the flapping gums of Gove/Heseltine/Soubry etc whipping the remain voter into a froth over a possible second referendum and now May threatening no Brexit at all...that's interesting,as Gina Miller has already proven,Article 50 triggers Brexit, and there is nothing in subsequent articles that say anything about stopping it,(we have been warned at length that we would have to rejoin, use the Euro and all of the nonsense that entails). Remainers lost the argument immediately they accused leave voters of being poorly educated, lower class, and not worthy of a vote. Had they stuck to facts instead of hysteria and insult, they might have been taken seriously. But the fact is that May and her god-awful bunch of corrupt middle-class social climbers rely on dire prediction and threats, which has cut no ice with leave voters,(personally I believe a second referendum will never happen because the realists in the remain camp know it will be an even bigger loser for them),and therefore those with an interest are even more divided than ever. Leave want to leave because they think they'll be better off outside the EU,remain think the opposite. But thought isn't fact, and until/unless we leave, neither side will be able to say,"I told you so".
I think that the Conservatives will vote for someone who represents their majority view. It may well be a leader who is not a Brexiteer. However, someone with charisma, a different attitude, who is able to make speeches that inspire as opposed to Mays lecturing school teacher tones and a good deal less arrogant may well be able to pull them together.
If May decides to challenge against vote of no confidence, if she wins the vote, she can't be challenged for another 12 months. FFS - another year of this? Surely not? It's worse than a bacon tax.
May will certainly challenge the vote. If she doesn't challenge she loses her job/ career. If she does challenge she might win, and then be able to choose to stand down sometime after April which will look better than being sacked. Unless there are more than 150 letters supporting the challenge in which case it would be pointless... Anyone have predictions on the outcome?
At 5 she is either going to say come and have a go if you think you are hard enough or, she is going to step down saying the country needs a new direction other than hers At one point this afternoon I felt sorry for her as person after person and for nearly 3 hours they kept telling her you are not listening and the deal is shite.
