  1. It is but you can make simple brackets to make it fit the 1.6M, although you will need to extend the wiring.

  2. There used to be an aftermarket vendor of these if yr not bovvered about originality.
    DM something?
    Based in Italy.

  3. There were a couple... Febur still does them but not sure if they still make them with the seat lock...

  4. There are 2 different alloy subframes for 748 916 996 1 fits the 16M ECU and a the other fits the P8 ECU ,, that is 100% fact. The 998 series runs a totally different smaller ECU again, what subframe is the correct fitment for 998 bikes i don’t know

  5. Luckily I do know. As if by magic it’s the one in post #12 which says here is a picture of the finished item! Also, by a series of happy co-incidences, it’s the same one as the damaged one which is currently fitted to my 998 and the same one which I am ordering! I know, what are the odds huh?
Imagine my surprise when I popped open the seat and found this out. I wish you had been there to see it!

  6. Picture 12 is the specific fitment for the 916 & 996 series fitted with the P8 ECU

  7. @224stu what type of ECU do I have? The bike is a 996BP. IMG_20181120_113413.jpg

  8. ^ Magneti Marelli 16M - glad to see the gaffer tape over the bung! - essential minimum to help prevent water ingress even when bung in place.

  9. Thanks Chris. So the frame in post 12 is not suitable, as thats for a P8.

  10. can adapt of course, as said but would be nice to get a "plug and play" one, I am in same position with 851, prefer not to have to adapt.

  11. You will probably find that mono frames for 16m are difficult to find.

    That combined with finding a P8 version at the right time and price led to this;

Had to pull the wiring harness back a little to get the connector to reach, also needed to extend a couple of leads and relocate the relays etc. to get everything to fit.

  12. Go on then Joe... ruin my bike for me, what's horrible about the biposto subframe? I'm not actually sure what the difference is on a 748 between a biposto and monoposto subframe. On a 999 it's shorter, as the tail is very different. Cheers!

  14. Cheers Joe. I can't even look at my bike now... off to eBay...

  15. In another thread you are buying all kinds of other stuff (wheels etc.) for it. What's the difference?

  16. It's about finished now, got the 5 spoke wheels and "S" spec suspension on there, a mono seat unit and the OE fairings. Popped the mono unit on today and TBH I'll probably leave the biposto subframe on as it's an easy swap back if I want to carry pillion. :)

I was more curious about the differences.

  17. I wasn't having a go, you just know we all are with buying the right parts and shaving a few grammes here and there and then going and eating a kebab!
