i see the dates are out for the two Ducati uk track days 2019 Tues 14th May 2019 Donington Tues 25th June 2019 Silverstone Both events appear to be £199 inc breakfast and dinner.....
The last one at Donington was ace. That beautiful hot summers day.... And I wobbled round, shitting it, on my brand spanking shiny new V4S... Great day
Ha, yeah. I heard someone binned their V4 first session. Oh dear.... Plenty of red flags early on if I remember correctly.
That's debatable, due to the low cost and the prestige tracks, you get people who are clearly not novices taking spots in the novice group when the other groups are full, as happened to me last year at Silverstone, I suffered some close passes and the instructors had to go have words with the riders in question (was on v underpowered Monster), hence they brought in the ruling about not having race prepped bikes in anything other than advanced class.
Yes in comparison with CSS days, who do offer the instruction if you ask, of course Ducati Trackdays nothing like CSS structure, I did it to see if I liked their style before deciding whether or not I wanted to commit to CSS. Not a comparison with a generalist track day to be clear, although checking the current Silverstone prices, it's also cheaper than their GP track track days, except the start and end of season, which doesn't include breakfast etc.
It's about right for Silverstone but expensive for Donny. All days you'll get someone in novice that shouldn't be. I found inters last year was slower than a normal inters. Where did you see about no track bikes in inters or novice?
I just booked on the Silverstone day, where I'll be nervously pootling around on my 959 - which I assume (hope!) will get under the 108db limit with its underbelly Akras. It may be its first track day unless I can get on Snetterton before then - subject to noise level.
Yeah I can't comment on Donny, fair point, so you'll be right with that. I saw the no track bike thing for this years when the dates were announced, as one of the guys I was with last year had a track bike in inters. Maybe check with Wendy if it still applies? It was quite a few people in novice that shouldn't have been, at least 8 or 9, I think purely with the virtue of people not wanting to miss out, but leaving it too late to book an appropriate slot they snuck in
I'd expect you'll be fine at Silverstone but Snetterton may be a different matter. You can go down there when they are running a TD and have a noise test and a chat to them.
