British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

  13. Reading the news of what's going on at the moment and how stories are changing in the press, some disappearing; I reckon May is going to get her deal through Parliament.

In the first place, all the signs based upon the numbers indicated that she didn't have a hope in hell of winning the Commons vote.....now stories are changing to show there is a distinct possibility that she will get just enough numbers.

  15. If she could get rid of the backstop or at least get it changed so that we could get out of it without there permission, then I would support her plan, get it through parliament, stand down and let someone with some backbone take over to negotiate the trade deal.
    Just my opinion.

  16. So bizarre. People are seriously discussing a plan that only gives the UK the chance to surrender to:
    1. Extending the temp arrangement
    2. The backstop
    3. Asking to rejoin the EU

With no other options at all?

Why is anyone not fully committed to Remain at any cost even entertaining this nonsense?

In a sane world we the UK public would never have even heard a whisper of this plan. Let alone have it touted as some form of Brexit.

  17. This evening whilst in Brussels before tomorrows vote, the Spanish ambassador has said it will withdraw his veto on the leaving deal (he didn't have one) as Spain and the U.K. have agreed a deal on joint sovereignty over Gibraltar. The first minister of Gibraltar is due to speak at 7pm out time. I'd be surprised if the Spanish claim is correct but feel it is all about the posturing in regards for the future trade deal around fishing

  18. No no wait that’s not fair.
I’ve just asked some intelligent questions and thought about the answers I was given.
That led me to decide we are better off leaving.
Now you say we should remain.

    I’m going off politics already.
