  3. Is that not an old story? 17th Feb 2009 it says. There are lots of speed cameras up round Derbyshire Matlock, Buxton area but dont head up there much now

  4. They are all my local roads, what a bummer.

  5. All this equipment can be freely used in the name of research, I'm sure, but using it to secure a conviction is highly unlikely; setting out solely to track motorcyclists in order to secure a conviction even less likely. Even less likely still is the notion that any department has the spare funds to embark on such a venture...

  10. This is very old news. It has been in place in varying degrees for a couple of years. Not on anything like all of those roads listed.
As a Peak District resident I can tell you that until I read this tonight, I had forgotten all about it!

  11. When was High Wycombe last in the Peak District ?

  12. There is a hill...

  13. Split my time between both places.

  14. Arrr us country lads are easily confused.

  15. Oh but hes got great lips whoever he is!!!

  17. The enforcement cams are the reason why there has been recent clampdowns on numberplate size. With a smaller plate, the automatic system struggles to 'see' the plate. Anyway, most specs cams are used through roadworks when then rest of traffic is doing 50mph. Im not going to blazing through there at 90 anyway. Time and a place

  18. In an ideal world the cameras would be placed in suitable areas to prevent accidents, and we would all see the sense and abide by the speed limits, thereby negating the need for cameras in the first place. Sadly, this is far from an ideal world, and the reasoning behind the placement and use of these cameras is as bent as our intention to flout the speed limits. This is what happens when you put humans in charge of machines. Game on.

  19. This sort of thing is why I never buy MCN anymore. It's written to get a reaction and I'm not interested in this sort of journalism. I just won't buy MCN after years of it annoying me but somehow still buying it. Must be 5 years since I bought a copy. It's a shame as I really like Trevor Franklin and Michael Neeves, but MCN can keep these articles to themselves as far as I'm concerned.
