As fitted to the new GT model. Any comment out there. I'll be ready for some new boots soon. I love the Scorpions, mainly because they grip great from stone cold, no warming up necessary. Life is only about 4k though. Could the Angel GT be the answer? PR3's get good reviews but I try to avoid the wet (the main reason for their great reviews) and they look positively hideous!
Each to their own my friend. I think they're a great looking bike. The PR3 front, I mean really, what were they thinking?
If you don't care for the look of the PR3 then the PR2 is still available. It is almost as good as the PR3 in the wet and you can't tell them apart in the dry (I have tried both). The tread pattern is more conventional and they're cheaper too
So often has someone come up to me at the lights and commented on how good the tyres on my bike look - NOT!! Bloody hell dudes, I can't see my tyres when I am riding my bike so I simply don't care what they look like. Are they not all black round things anyway? I care a great deal about tyre performance but this is the first thread I have ever read about the cosmetic appeal of tyres. Even the total poseurs on US websites don't seem to care about this.
It's funny that the tyre companies spend time and money not only on how the tread pattern works but also how it looks, they must think that we do care.
Well maybe i'm in the minority, but how a tyre looks makes a difference to me too. Weird? maybe, True? Yes. Oh and I don't like the look of PR 3's either.........
I've never had Metzelers because they look crap regardless of their reviews, people put semi knobblies on their "Adventure" bikes even though they have no intention of ever going off road. More of us care than we dare admit.
Are you saying you fit into the Cock bracket? It's not about taste of bikes, it's the appearance of tyres which you are concerned with. If it matters to you, I have a 998S FE, 749R ex BSS and a Monster S4.
Nice selection of bikes there. No I don't fit into that bracket, I guess it's each to their own, tell you what, you can call me a cock because I partially choose a tyre because I like the patten, and I'll call you a cock for choosing to ride a Monster.
I choose tyres on looks too, why would I put tyres that look crap on my bike - tread pattern is where it's at, less the better
