It has arrived at my house now apparently. Will check It over tonight and have a butchers but all in all the advice has been great and that’s what good forums are for. Many thanks for your comments
I had an F4 Gen2 i loved it and also found it easier to ride as well. lt was prettier on the eye, however the 1199 is growing on me and hopefully next year will be the time when i start to prefer the Duc
Was the nicest bike available before the v4. I love mine even tho it’s really hot and hates to go slow. Loads of attention everywhere it goes
I usually go To the Nurburgring about 4 times a year. Do silverstone every now and again but just don’t have much time for it in the week
Just get there and let her have it! What will be will be is how I look at it but then I have very low regard for my own life lol
I just sold a 1199S ABS after 6 1/2 years of ownership from newand 12000 miles. Great for the first two years but started to experience electronic and electrical breakdowns. Also one mechanical breakdown when the water pump impeller bearing seized. Eventually after five breakdowns in 18 months I got rid. Beautiful looking bike with some innovative design. However, the quality of the electrical components (connectors etc.,)is not top rate and prone to problems. Also, the fact that plastic pinions are used on the water pump drive begs some questions. I get the sense that it's a great bike as designed but may be compromised if the Audi accountants were paring back cost. Time will tell. My last but one breakdown brought it home to me as when I was recovered, there were five other Panigales broken down waiting for despatch back to their various owners.
Went out for a spin on the 1199 this morning and all was well until the oil Light appeared when warm and idling. Got back and checked the pressure which was 4 psi. Bollox! Filter good, plenty of oil,any ideas folks as I know this usually means bearing wear somewhere in the engine allowing oil pressure to leak off or maybe a wanked oil pump? Only ridden it twice and it was ok the other day. Bugger!
whip off the sump and check the filter unit in the sump ( its a Desmo service item) nightmare.. let us know how you get on
Will do cheers. Is there an engine repair manual available for the 1199 with torque settings and info in it ? Could be simple or not I spose
If it has been sitting for ages with no maintenance, I would do an oil and filter change first, you don't know what his neglect has done but it might be something simple
