British Indy: What Happens Now?

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. Yep, it's caustic debate which is a real shame. I think immigration was one of the key issues, I voted remain because FoM is one of the things I agree with. There are loads of issues within that standpoint that can be made for and against FoM but race isn't one of them. It would be absurd to assume I can't be racist because I voted remain so the reverse must be true.

I seem to remember a similar thing in the election before the referendum, didn't the pollsters refer to shy kippers? People who voted UKIP but wouldn't reveal it in polls hence they got their predictions wrong.

  2. Seen a few people going on about this.

I suppose America showed their dislike of politicians by voting in a non politician business man.
Should we do similar but choose a comedian ?

  3. After writing to my MP I received a very "sitting on the fence" and I'm not telling you how I'll vote, type of response. Suggest that those wanting out, send your MP emails stating your feelings as they have to take notice:

    Dear John,

    Thank you for your response. Just one example of how the EU will treat us in the future is summed up by one of your recently resigned Ministers regarding Galileo, after our significant technical and commercial input;

“The government is finally pulling out of frustrating negotiations over Galileo, the EU’s strategic Satellite Navigation system. The PM is right to call time on a negotiation that was stacked against us from the very beginning. But Galileo is only a foretaste of what’s to come under the Government’s Brexit deal,” he said.

“Having surrendered our voice, our vote and our veto, we will have to rely on the ‘best endeavours’ of the EU to strike a final agreement that works in our national interest. As Minister with the responsibility for space technology I have seen first-hand the EU stack the deck against us time and time again, even while the ink was drying on the transition deal,” Gyimah said.

    We can do better!

  4. No it’s not. It’s like Russia beating England but finding out the striker that Russia said was 100% fit wasn’t.

  5. I wrote to my MP co incidentally and she is voting against the deal. Which is just what I wanted to hear.

  7. On a tangential note I heard on BBC this morning that 20,000 retail jobs lost this year.

I'm surprised no one is calling for a people's vote to stop this. :p

  8. This microcosm vote and the result is very interesting.

Why am I not surprised remoaners aren't conceding this is how a people's vote would go. Perhaps Ducati ownership does not qualify as understanding the issues properly

  9. the last vote on here was 70odd % but the cuntry voted 52%
and its only a bike forum dear. :p

  10. Because as I said we can vote them out, I trust the EU even less.

  13. And that is the core fact. One all remainders either fail to see or fail to understand

You have to have central control somewhere for big policy direction: and those decision makers need to be accountable.

  14. The grief May is getting shows why the vote is important

We can hold our mp's and parliament to account, we can't the eu commission.

  15. People aged under 45 mainly want to remain. Ducati owners are mainly over 45, and older people mainly favour leave. The votes of this self-selected group are not surprising, but don't get us very far.

  16. People aged under 45 mainly want those over 45 to pay for their existence, older people mainly favour supporting themselves. The attitude of the under 45's is not surprising but doesn't get us very far.

  17. I'm 32, the missus is 34. Both voted leave but the difference between us and most people in this age bracket is that we work damn hard and expect others to work equally hard for themselves rather than 'entitlement due to existence'.
