British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. God the "it will start a war again" drones are boring aren't they, It will not happen. Whilst their are still elements of the nut jobs, there always will be no matter what happens.

Apart from saying unless you do what the eu says the terrorists will start again, very little has been put forward to support that false claim

Eire was a signatory and is a member state of the EU.

And? Eire are also members of the wto does that make the wto a signaturee of the Good Friday Agreement either? Of course it doesn't, that's just desperate pure nonsense.

  2. OR, it is as "simple", or rather, as complicated, as this.

Leavers do not want to be subject to laws made in Brussels but would rather have a UK government, elected by UK citizens. It isn't simply about tariffs and trade rules, it is about being a nation state and not a mere region in a European superstate. This is a belief held very strongly by up to 17.4m voters, by the last count.

The idea that the UK must be subsumed into the EU superstate because a smaller number of violent individuals in a small part of the UK&NI cannot keep their guns holstered is abhorrent to any Brexiteer. I'm sure most Remainers would be uneasy with this issue too but would take comfort in some form of "the end justifies the means" sophistry.

Sorry to be blunt on this. I am entirely mindful of the horrors that "The Troubles" brought people in all parts of the UK, NI and Eire but the implicit threat of violence is not persuasive in any way.

  3. How can the EU not act on behalf of the one member state that will have a border with the UK in its negotiations, especially when the outcome of those negotiations could very well mean a return to armed conflict.
I really don’t understand how you can dismiss this issue so glibly.
Fake news, project fear, project disaster.
    No! Very real dangers.

  4. no short six month campaign going on there. slow down noob, think before you post.

  5. Why aren't English Brexiteer politicians saying this....................................LOUDLY
because the levels of inequality and wealth distribution in ozz is nothing to craw about.
kinda like here, in the already5-6 wealthiest nation on earth.

  6. and? dont you want the uk populace to know its options?

  7. Simple, the agreement in law is between the U.K. and Irish governments, at no point can the eu change anything within that agreement as it was not a relevant party signaturee....yes or no?

But reality is the answer. The trouble with this threat is if you try and say it is real, best not do it in a forum where the majority of the people are old enough to remember what happened.

Please show me where a single person has suggested this comes back?

Rather than project fear nonsense, please show me where anyone has suggested we go back to the boundaries of old^^?

If anything you are are more likely to see an anpr cameras and little more, even the dartford bridge/tunnel doesn't have toll booths and staff now

So real that you have no actual proof at all

  8. I understand your concern about a return to the violence and agree it must be avoided, if at all possible.

Are you saying that no price is too great to prevent such possible violence?

Actually, I am unsure what you are asking for. "Preventing the violence" is the start of a conversation, what we do to go about it is the end of it - how do we get from A to B?

For once, I am not being in any way "glib" here. We aren't talking about trade deals, we aren't talking about EU rules, we are talking about the long road being taken, as we speak, towards dissolving the UK as a sovereign nation and putting a EU regional authority in its place. This is not hyperbole, it is not rhetoric and it is most assuredly not fake news. You may like the idea of that, or hate it, but you are not paying sufficient attention if you simply dismiss it.

  9. give us 2bill,
    terrorisem pays after all

  10. Especially "terrorism" that runs the construction industry.

  11. Wait what, I've surpressed all information? when did I do that, at page 382 fin, there is a fair chance I've put out a LOT of information :D

    Bollox

Let me give you a comparisson that you will ignore :D

Imagine the snp are a totally for all scotland party and not just the loons. Imagine then an indi vote took place and the wish to leave the U.K. was 52% for and 48% remain

Then imagine after 2 years of the country tearing itself apart over a democratic majority vote, the snp independent government (i know, hard to believe, but stay with me here)
Imagine the snp government said, we the government think we know better than the democratic majority and are now going to over ride the result and cancel the indi, the people voted for

What do you think the fall out would be for any government that says the politicians can now cancel democratic majority national votes? and what would be the fall out for that countries democratic vote system and all future democratic votes?

  14. you dont have to imagine anything, the evidence is all over this forum.
this is what happens when you lie to achieve an outcome.
for a result to be respected. so must the comitments made to secure a result, or, you get to a stage where no cvnt trusts politicions. kind like what yer seeing now, even the tory/kipper brigade are questioning their leadership and proccesses now, no?

  17. So what will be hidden in the full legal advise that they so dont want to reveal?

  18. Can't see terrorism coming back, politics have moved on, the EU would come under enormous pressure, ROI is governed by the EU and financial restrictions etc would hurt the ROI. I believe any word of terrorism would work against SF. Seems its only certain politicians spouting this as an argument for their own agenda.

  19. Is it just another delay tactic ?

If they decide they are in contempt nothing happens anyway, not sure why they are making such a fuss about it ?

  20. So you dont think anything will be revealed that the government dont want revealing?
