If you fancy a 25-30 km ride each way into town each day I can recommend the camp site at beaumont sur sarthe (A). Good clean facilities and reasonably priced. Good local amenities, quiet too!! Pretty straightforward blast down from either Cherbourg or across from Roscoff - beaumont sur sarthe camping - Google Maps Probably a little too far if being honest but worth consideration if you're not into mad all nighters!!
I would love to join you but I will be on my way back from Hols after ticking something else of my bucket list. For a few years the wife and I would spend a week in a little place called Brionne in June same weekend usualy as the Le Mans 24 hour (cars). It was a stopping off point for a lot of people on the way to the race. Loved sitting at a bar in the square watching all the different cars come and go. Stayed in aHotel owned by a couple of Scots but they've sold it and its a nursing home now. Lovely area with cracking roads
