  1. I think Aprilia have a brilliant bike in wsb.
They also have a brilliant CRT bike about to eat works Ducati motogp bikes at the first round.

  2. So whats going wrong is the question.
    Bike design or riders.

  3. Neither really-how can anything be judged on one race where they made a mistake while fighting for 3rd place, bike and rider are on the pace, not sure whether Badovini is going to make the grade but as he was injured also who knows yet

  4. Is there a Paralympics version of WSB? Ducati could win that

  5. Isn't that Desmodue? I'm sure Ducati could win that, not with that Carbon frame thingy though!

  6. Pani gets pole - top tyre or not (others could have done the same I imagine).
Carlos in 3rd when he outbrakes himself. Sad (not least for him) that he landed on his noggin. But you could hardly say that the Pani has no chance. On the contrary, it seems to be a lot better than I thought it would be. Carlos is in my Fantasy Team.

It's a new bike. The Aprilia isn't. So it's chance of getting development over the season and improving have got to be good.

My only question is what is the point of starting a championship and then having to wait 6 weeks for Round 2?

  7. Really? Is it? It's in its' first season, but it's not new. We met Bayliss testing this and chatting about how blazingly fast it was in 2010 I think. You can't really say 3 years on that the bike is new. I do think the restriction plates should be reviewed though, it would appear the regs aren't yet creating a level playing field.

  8. Pmsl ouch thats harsh...C class maybe....

  9. Well, it's its first season racing in WSBK, and that was its first race, so in my book, that makes it a new bike.
Alstare surely haven't had that long to work on it.

I find it very hard to comment on the WSBK handicapping system. I don't know enough about it, but I suspect that Ducati have done quite well out of it in the past.

  10. Yes Roy!
The Fannygale is 3 years old.
Did Troy say that while He was still on Ducati payroll?

  11. Only second year in racing, you cant include BSB really due to the amount of changes to have a common ecu and in superstock form on the continent it did ok ;-)

time and testing and racing, thats what develops these bikes, not a test rider wazzing around a test track or the techy bods building models. Bum in seat, bollocks on tank.

    Its a new bike :)

  12. Have a look at the new rule changes for wsb now dorna run the show to distance it from motogp.
The pani may win then in production spec.

  13. Well he was still working for them last time we saw him last year I think.

  14. I think some of the arm chair critics on here should pipe down till the end of the season. Your`re all no different to football fans at home watching the first game and your team loses and you start ranting that your`re shit, he was a poor buy, not worth the money, the ref was on the pay and the manager needs to go.

  15. a. We are.
    b. He was.
    c. They aren't.
    d. He was.
    e. he does.

  16. Awe come on, we all know it's the guys who've bought Pani's that are wanting them to win and last time I checked we are all armchair fans unless you've got a ride with one of the teams?

It's natural if you've bought the road bike to want it to be successful as it helps justify your purchase. I was no different with the 1098 and the Desmosedici and in truth a little bit of me is smug given last year's winning bike won again at the start of this year.

However, nothing would make me happier than Ducati on the top step, we can live with WSB results being crap if MGP is going well or vice versa and of course in 2007/8 when it was all going our way with Casey & Troy, we were ecstatic. So fair comment lets see how it goes, but we are used to Ducati WSB blasting them from day one.

  17. Haha bloody git its all true lol...........still pipe down its a good bike and we shall see at the end. And if it doesnt do the business like promised it just means it was beaten by a better team.

  18. Going for cake and eat it, eh ;-)

  19. I think checa done really well. On a new bike. I think Ducati are to blame fielding another V twin. Although new and with more BHP. With the known restrictions that a V twin will have in WSBK. Why didnt they bit the bullet and go V four. They have one in Moto gp.

I ride an Aprilia the V 60% twin rotax engine. Is a great engine, but its past its prime. So Aprilia went V four. Good choice. The pani wasnt tested enough and was rushed into production. Blame the Ducati management for that.

  20. Are you guys serious? Ranting and raving after one race which ended in a crash from THIRD. Did you actually see him ride around the outside of the BMW or were you too busy catching up with the latest gossip from hello magazine

In its first WSBK weekend it gets pole and sets a new lap record oh and to mention again it missed out on the WSSTK title by a couple of points, again in its first year
