dude, if only you could stand straight, you may well be taller, but, you will always be smaller inside.
how many of those companys are state owned? i thaught that was impossible and even if it was its an unprofitable way of running a business? whats the craic with ugly pattel threatening ireland with food shortages?
From an honest point, she has a point. Like so many in the eu, as long as the U.K. was stumping up, some, neglected their own infrastructure. In the roi's case, they never really expanded their ports and supply routes as they never had to. Most of their exports/imports came and went through the U.K. and it's road and sea networks, 80% is a figure I've seen Should we go to free trade and wto and there is problems at eu ports, the eu can manage as it is on the mainland, the U.K. has the routes in place to quickly adapt, the ROI is effectively in a cul de sac and that is where the fear is. Priti mentioned it as this as just one reason why the eu would want to reach an agreement but the usual anti brexiteers have tried to turn it round as she wants to bring back the irish famine. Usual remainer sillyness
A lot of this garbage does the rounds. EU Grants and funding for what is described in these lists is unlawful as is state aid etc public / private companies being propped given state aid. Anyway, a quick check of two of these examples at random. They are both untrue. Also, The Hinkley statements are also untrue. EDF’s bid and the failure of its steel has nothing to do with the EU although it is true to say the technology is untested. But the decision to go ahead and build Hinkley is a poor choice that was made by the UK. Govn’t. The comments about patents is also untrue. Patents and IP are sold and traded and protected much in the same way as anyone’s property. They are often disposed of when the entity that holds them has little use for them use for them. From memory, research and science is the U.K.’s first or second greatest export. Patents etc and their protection & use are governed by treaty in which the UK has a significant influence.
It’s shocking because it’s largely shite. Or if it’s not shite I’d wager much if not all of it is distorted.
I’m guessing the garbage is referring to the European Investment Bank - but how it’s presented here will be distorted.
So you have said, with confidence and fact in your voice, it’s shote. Then said ‘if its not shite’. I get how you work now. And that nothing you post can be taken as fact
Well, Knowing that several aspects of it are untrue, and then also knowing that several other items can’t possibly be correct, I know that much of it cannot be true. Of the other items, I haven’t checked them nor have any knowledge of the events. I therefore cannot say whether the balance of those items (the specific events I have no knowledge of) are true or false but I would comfortably wager, given the origin of the information, that the balance of the items are shite / distorted.
Take for example, the transit van story - I know nothing about it however I would comfortably wager that that money has come from the EIB.
Nothing to do with incompetent British mangers, investors and governments then? The EU is an easy scapegoat, the truth is much more uncomfortable.
https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/10020273.fords-80m-eu-loan-to-boost-turkey-factory-and-close-ours/ And a free trade deal too to import back to the UK
May be some, who knows. But I’d suspect more to do with minimal wages, improved conditions, unionised elemnsnt of uk manufacturing which, ironically, doesn’t seem to apply in much of the EU even tho most of the rules are the same.
Germany is the worst for Union Power so I'm told, try closing a plant down there, next to impossible...
Today, the German ruling majority coalition party, the CDU, appointed Frau Merkels replacement to lead the party. https://www.euronews.com/2018/12/07...nd-round-of-voting-to-choose-merkel-successor Despite stepping down as leader of the party and a new leader being appointed, Merkel still wants to be the Chancellor till the next German elections in October 2021. Personally I can't see how that works for her party and I suspect the opposition wouldn't allow it either.* So tomorrow I will be placing a bet at my local bookies that Merkel will step down next year some time and declare she wants to run for Junkers job in November 2019 when he steps down. I'll let you know the odds * in her acceptance speech she again raised, europe needs a european army. What is it with the crazy Germans and uniforms.
Exactly. I have first hand experience of implementing change in Germany and can’t help but admire the level of protection German workers have compared to here. Again, a reflection of stuff that we should’ve done but didn’t. But they work collaboratively with business to everyone’s benefit. Mostly.
