This is my S mono. Note the lack of rear footrest hangers and the clean lines of the tail unit. You should be able to get one of these for around the price of that Xerox rep.
You're directly out of your mind, you know that, right? : o ) Yellow T9 of either flavour - No numberboards, no exception, no excuses. : o D
You know, if you take a gloss black 999S to the Bologna factory for the workers to look at, they would describe as nero . Some folks don't seem to grasp that.
I removed the front one... and in fairness if I came across a plain yellow one at a price that didn't suggest that the vendor was on crack then I'd be happy to fit one. I like things plain, but as it's factory it's just fine. 748 mono has no boards front or rear, but it's regrettably red.
I realise that this is now a resolved post as the OP has decided not to persue the purchase of this bike but at the back of my mind, we (as in this forum) have previously discussed a 999 that was converted from a mono so the owner could carry a pillion. Might this be a similar situation but without the original bits that were removed ? Andy
BTW. Bigby is about 5 mins up the road from me, and that place has a half-decent reputation so if you want someone to go for a nosy then let me know It's a biposto, just has a cowl on it and the rear pegs removed. The seller isn't a Ducati specialist and probably hasn't a clue about the stuff we get bothered about. What would be more interesting would be to ping Italia in Lincoln and see if they know the bike. If it's local then there's a good chance they do. If they don't, Adam at V-Duo may do. It is an S (forks, headstock, shock - think from previous conversations that all 999 have adjustable footrests unlike 749 where only the S and R have them). Probably needs belts, 6k is also a demo service on a 999 too, right? (see, did have something useful to contribute after all)
Thanks, I am very fortunate to own it. It is probably the cleanest and sweetest handling bike I own. I much prefer riding it to my 999R which seems brittle and fragile in comparison, although just as pretty.
May be getting even greedier. If I can find a day off work I'm going to go look at a FILA rep. just north of Zurich and just north of not very much money!
I have been trying to persuade you to part with that for a long while now but I'm not Mother fucking Theresa!
Nope, madam is home in half hr after 3 days in Paris (she wasn't rioting (may do when she sees the state of the house)). Only one place I am spending Sunday!
