That's what Cameron failed to understand - the depth of stupidity of the majority who voted Leave, plus the even greater stupidity of the 24% or so that failed to vote but were happy to go along with whatever people thought best. If the original ref could be re-run, it would have had only one option on the ballot. I bet the electorate would have been too stupid to notice it, too.
In a Parliamentary democracy, it is important that you never give the stupid electorate a chance to vote on anything meaningful, hence the traditional dearth of referendums. People are allowed to vote in elections, to make them believe they live in a democracy, but as no political party wants to do more than nibble around the edges of societal change, there's no harm in a GE every five years. The establishment, the elites, are undisturbed whoever wins.
nope, I know that's how it should be. However I am watching a load of mary's on £80k a year plus expenses, saying the government has undermined parliament, whilst parliament tries to undermine the largest majority democratic vote by the people in modern times.
Mayhem to Oily Olly Robins: Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit smoking, amphetamines, drinking & sniffing glue...
Currently Brussels. I have hopes though. Dreams. Aspirations. You are? Good. Go be in charge and fetch me my popcorn and beers, sparky.
Which party will actually change anything for the better in the UK ? What have the government been doing for the last 2(ish) years ? What have the opposition been doing for the last 2(ish) years ? Can I have a pay rise ? Will you buy me a Ducati if I vote for you ?
