Well as some of you may know, ive been tinkering with the 748 over the last 2 or 3 months and shes almost finished  ive changed the arrow cans now to akrapovics, and now fitted the marchesini wheels a big thank you to ianf on here for them, and meeting me part of the way also have some different front forks fitted, as the old ones let it down, stone chips etc, been powder coating a few bits at work when i have some spare time, just foot hangers, brackets etc and rear spring, makes it look so much neater, as these areas let it down, just a couple more bits and she will be finished  all comments good and bad welcome Bish
Very clean and shiny looks good. Such a satisfying way of spending those wet cold evenings when you can't ride it. Should get some good attention when it goes out, well done.
Also has anyone noticed when fitting the rear marchesini the alloy spacer does not fit like it does in the 3 spoke brembo, and you cant get the safety clip through the nut and the hole in the spindle? also where can i buy the larger 2 clamps that holds the carbon exhaust heat shield? cheers Bish
likey likey, very nice,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, swapped my brembos ( 1999 996 ) over with marchesini wheels, fitted on the same?
its almost there, but it looks like the nut needs to go on a little bit more, these have been powder coated, its as though the alloy spacer does'nt seat properley into the spindle hole, and im not able to do the nut up so it goes past the small hole in the end of the spindle so the clip can go in if that makes sense lol
Good point. I'm pretty sure my spacer sits a little proud now I have marchesini wheel on, but I can still get the clip in the 'ole.
Thank you for the comments  yeah its located ok, it just seems the spacer does not fit in as far as it does on the brembo 3 spoke rear wheel
Quick update, wheel fits fine now, it was just because the wheel had been powder coated and never fitted, and they had powder the face that fits against the hub, so removed that carefully and now its all good
that normal don't worry about it. i have that on my 916 also when i placed the 5-spokes. seems like the 5-spokes are a bit more flat in the centre compared to the 3-spokes. henk!!!
Couple more jobs done, modified the side stand as it leant over to far for my likeing, so welded a thicker plate on the bottom of it, and yes that got powder coated black too lol and fitted some more carbon parts
BISH748.. lovely bike mate, you've obviously spent many hours cleaning and polishing and it looks great for it! I have a quick question for you if you dont mind... I noticed that your Akrapovic cans that join to the mid dual link pipe.. you have fitted a long carbon heat cover but in your top picture I didnt see the holes that they fit into on the exhaust pipe. Did you get someone to weld some on for you? I have a Termi 45mm system with the ugly standard heat shield and have wanted to find out from someone in the know how to get a long carbon heat shield fitted... Another quick cheeky question for anyone that might know.. can the slimmer 50mm link pipes be fitted to a termi 45mm system as I hate the bulge in the link pipes ( think its ugly ). Cant justify cost of replacing exhaust for 50mm and remapping. Any help gratefully appreciated - Dan
