Remember the flurry of media articles a few months back from pro Remain figures and groups gloating that the UK was to be the "Sick Man of Europe"? This was the Times November 2017: Britain’s economy will trail the eurozone for each of the coming three years as its growth falls to the bottom of the European Union’s 28 members, according to official forecasts from Brussels. The single currency bloc has not grown faster than the UK since 2011 but is now expected to outpace it until at least 2019, after the European Commission downgraded Britain and upgraded the eurozone in its latest outlook. The commission cut its 2017 forecast for the UK from 1.8 per cent to 1.5 per cent, after which it expects growth to slow to 1.3 per cent in 2018 and 1.1 per cent the following year when Brexit formally happens. Britain is expected to be joint bottom of the EU pack with Italy This is from "Expert Economists" don't forget. Now, rather inconveniently, the Eurozone economy is heading south and Germany, the EU powerhouse is about to go into recession: German industrial production was worse than expected in November, down for the third consecutive month, sparking concerns it could be sliding into a recession. Data from the Federal Statistics Office show that industrial output at German factories declined 1.9pc month-on-month in November. There had been hopes of a 0.3pc increase. Strange that the media is rather silent about this.... And yet the "Expert Economists" can still state as fact, how much GDP growth we'll lose by leaving without a signed withdrawal deal - Bollocks!
It won’t happen. We won’t exit. They will obfuscate the reasons, extend periods, be difficult then just not do it. And of course the civil unrest will simply be the unwashed and racist xenophobes
The vote this evening appears to be a largely symbolic one. What it appears?? to do is say that should we got to wto/free trade on the 29th March then tax powers that would be sought afterwards to get us through the first few years, can only be approved if they go through the house first. It appears to be little more than posturing. If we finally get to wto free trade, at that point, the remainers ploy would have failed and they are not likely to stop taxation needed to keep things going. They cannot stop it this way and they know that. Still a few got on tele and Cooper pushed her cv more in the taking over from Corbyn direction.
If it's good enough for Jean-Marc Puissesseau, a man in the know, then it's good enough for me. https://www.politico.eu/article/cal...create-new-brexit-trade-routes-disrespectful/
There was news today on the BBC that the predominant view in polls is to leave with no deal - and this by a significant margin, however there appears to be a push from some quarters to have a public vote with just two options: May's deal or remain Now that will go down well with the populous I'm sure
It will see the rise of more extreme parties as is being seem all over Europe, with people feeling they are not being listened to by an elite. They just don't get this. The remainers may win the battle, but they won't win the war and will get a far more less palatable outcome in the long run, rather than just leaving the EU.
I just hope that TM's deal is voted down and we leave on the 29th March, no matter how many hand grenades are thrown until then. The MP's currently trying to scupper a 'No Deal' (WTO) Brexit can hardly complain about a 'Cliff Edge' when they had done everything they can to ensure there is one.
Brexit: What voters want MPs to do next http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-46735713 It’s in this article I think
I was purely mentioning a report - so not poorly informed, and one that usually comes from the project fear department too - grow up
Your pro remain news, oh, hang on - you get mixed up as there are two thing to leave or remain, which way was it again for you
