How about a blast to the Ardennes/Taunus/Rhine/Moselle region? It worked out pretty well before, if memory serves, and four days is about right.
Ok ... so let's create a list of options. Please copy and paste and add anything you'd like to propose Where? Somerset/Devon/Cornwall - @Dave and @PeterT have local knowledge Scotland - @finm has local knowledge Yorkshire - @I'm closing in has local knowledge Ardennes/Taunus/Rhine/Moselle region - @Pete1950 has local knowledge
Bear in mind if it involved ferries or the train the whole world will be travelling. May be better sticking UK
Easter weekend is the Le man 24 hour bike race , I go every year , great value for money . The whole place is set up for it , I love it . 24 hours of bikes , the noise is relentless . First and furthest trip on my 848 , not looking forward to it at the mo . Chris
Another option. Thanks Chris. Are you volunteering for others to tag into your trip .... or just help with advice?
During this weekend there are no motorway charges for bikes in northern France. They create a lane for bikes to bypass the toll booths. I happened to be riding up to Cherbourg and back on that weekend last year and was pleasantly surprised.
I'll give it a couple more days to see if anyone else has any suggestions and discuss them and if there are a still a few on the table then I'll start a poll.
If its Germany or Spain I might fancy tagging along if GS riding remainer welcome lol. Probably do Scotland next year for my 'foreign' hol.
I may be up for something, I must admit I prefer south than north, ( I live nr South Coast I never get bored of Luxembourg @Pete1950 we allowed to talk about Brexit
I would be interested too, given when it is South UK or France may be a good plan for the best chance of no snow . I would be interested what ever is chosen . Dates are good for me . David
snow! Yes, left Consett 2017 1st bank holiday and it was snowing. 2 days later sat in sunshine drinking red Wine with view over the Mosellle.
TBH I have been to the Nurburgring at easter one year and snow, and the following easter year was 30Âșc
I'm happy for people to tag along / advise . It's a shame , as I'd wanted to do more with the bike and the club this year , first trip to be mentioned and I'm busy . Chris .
I live (and farm) not far from Gillingham Dorset. The roads can be quite challenging after the bloody farmers have been out cleaning their tyres on them; I'm up fro some day trips in the area. I could even suggest some routes (depending on your sense of humour).
