I beat one of those back from Lincoln on my Scrambler last summer. It put up a brave struggle, plucky little thing.
Everything changes over time, particularly taste. Ducati's are still desirable. The new V4R is for me the most amazing looking road (?) bike currently on the market. I appreciate most of the older sports bikes they made, stunning for their time compared to the mass produced all the same Honda's Suzuki's etc. They are still stunning looking bikes. Ducati's still have huge kerbside appeal compared to almost all other makes. They do look special and when you look at their range far from all looking the same. Best looking bike ever? An unfaired Manx Norton. Perfect proportions.
They definitely still are, but to a different generation to what sounds like a lot of people on here. the V4S is ridiculously good looking and I've never spoken to anyone who thinks otherwise. Personally some of the older ducati's interest me as much as putting my balls in a vice but a lot of people on here seem to go mad over them, but I haven't grown up with them or ever really seen one. Times change, so does styling, performance, wants and needs of people spending their cash.

Yes from reading this thread it's pretty clear people on here aren't huge fans in general, hence my comment of a 'different generation', I'm guessing you guys are a bit older than me! Horses for courses and all that, no one is right or wrong. I also meant people in real life, random strangers on a geeky internet forum don't count, it's the rules of the internet.
Ducati owners of many moons yes, strange place to look for opinions I guess - you are clearly too young to have taste and the V4 is the first to be so disliked since the 999 was at launch. But the 999 was a massive stepped change - the previous Pani's were stunning - and the V4 looks like a Chinese Copy of a V2 Pani, it is as simple as that Talking to kids on FB and Twitter is also not real you know
Haha I hope I haven't touched a nerve as certainly not my intention! I'm not too young to have taste, I've just got a different opinion. I don't think it really looks any different to the 1199/1299. I'm not here to look for opinions either, here to learn a bit about my bike, and a lot about some others too.
That's it a, Chinese copy. I could not quite put my finger on why the V4 does not work for me but that's hit the nail on the head.
