  4. OK I released the pressure from the expansion cylinder, opened the rads until no pressure left to push out any water, and the pressure release valve still reads 5bar. I'm stumped. The valve must be faulty

  11. I know fuck all about plumbing, maybe the pressure can't get to 5 bar anyhoo, which should have told you the gauge was knackerd o_O

  14. The inside diameter needs to be smaller than the outside diameter otherwise the water will be on the outside of the pipe.
    Shit flows downhill.

  16. Have you made sure you turned off the fill valve.. completely.... because if you left the fill valve attached then you have the full mains pressure on... so any loss by draining is replaced by fresh fill.....

    I have had lots of issues with my combi the last few months... so quite the expert now....(not really) but still have to top up every few days... might go 2 days... might go 2 week.... can not see any leaks anywhere... changed the pressure relief valve few weeks ago as that was leaking... that was after I changed 2 sets of rad valves that were leaking.... and before that a flow meter on the underfloor circuit.....


    I do have a full maintenance contract with British Gas... so maybe need to get them to look..... but unless they have some magic system to detect leaks?
