Here's my Hyper - modifications include an extended range fuel tank so I can now do over 150 miles before the fuel light comes on.
Looks sweet. Pick my sp up in a couple of weeks and have my eye on the tank - did you fit it yourself? Oli
Hi Oli, I didn't fit it myself I had it done whilst in for a service and MOT. I only attempt fairly basic mods myself. I wish I had done it sooner though as it makes a huge difference, especially when I use the bike to go into the office which is 80 miles away - only fill up once as opposed to twice. Getting rid of the flip out mirrors was the other irritation consigned to room 101 - filtering on the M25 is now less hassle. I keep modifying the bike to resist the temptation of trading it in for a Multi - the Multi seems too sensible for me with the panniers etc. Cheers Moses.
Thanks for the reply. I used to do a lot with motors a few years back (rebuilt the engine of my first bike in my early teens with the help of a Haynes manual) but haven't done much of late but think I'll have a crack at it. Not that it will be a regular commute but I live in Bristol and work in London and would like to do it on the bike now and then so the range would be good and the need to filter well even better!! Like you I also looked at the multi and had my pen on the dotted line just before Xmas but something wasn't quite right for me and although its nice looking for me its not half as pretty as the hyper.
This company imports and sells them in the UK: http://www.sandbarcomposites.co.uk/displayproduct.php?product_id=694&category_id=44 I emailed the gent yesterday and he got back to me rapidly, which is a good sign, and said I could have one on my doorstep in 48 to 72 hours from when I press the go button
For those of you going to fit the extended range tank yourselves there is a video, in 4 parts, on the CA California Cycleworks website. Part 1: Ducatitech.com "HowTo" Install HM69 Large Fuel Tank for Ducati Hypermotard (Part 1) - YouTube Good Luck, Moses.
How you finding it to ride? I'd love to try one but dealers only have the stock versions so real world info is always good
Thanks! Yes, looks better on the bike but not convinced that it is more or less comfy. It is a wee bit lower though.
