Oi, the recognition of your peers is what any serious under-bridge dweller truly seeks. You KNOW this, finderman. : o D
There is the potential the EU will loosen, but only if its a deal or just leave (refuse to pay Noel any more money!) because they know that they’d rather something than nothing (it gives them some control still) and parliament wont pass otherwise. But I think she’ll carry on as is. No change to the deal, just possibly some further clarification on the backstop to get DUP on side. (And I bet she threaten every Tory MP with a GE if they dont vote her way)
Strategy. If May had come straight out with the awful deal the EU intended all along, the one we will see in the next few days, it would have been rejected and the EU loses out. By May offering her disgustingly awful WA deal, getting it rejected, going back to the EU and then offering a slightly less disgusting deal (say, dropping the backstop), the rest of the EU's disgusting deal goes through on the basis of "Hey, the EU compromised, we won a victory!" and we accept a dog's breakfast of a deal thinking we pulled one over the Germans and the French. This is a time-honoured UK Government tradition. It can be summed up as "We intend to steal your money through taxes and we are also going to shit in your mouth". After "negotiation", the shit-in-mouth part gets dropped, the theft goes ahead and everyone goes away thinking they've won.
To be fair to Boris, he did say he would lie in front of the bulldozers, and he's just done it for 45 minutes!
Yes, but him with wimmin perhaps, and the rest of the charlatans with our country - do you see the difference...
No, I'm seriously interested in why anyone thinks that May will be able to "pull something out of the bag" when that's all the government (ie, successive Brexit Ministers) have been trying to do for the last two years. Apparently. Especially at this late stage, it seems to smack of desperation. Having watched from the start, it seems to me that the EU has been very clear on what the terms of the withdrawal should be (three pillars, cannot pick and choose, etc) and that there is no room, nor any willing, for the EU to change this. They have been consistent in their message and negotiation; we (the UK) may not like this, but they have been consistent! And from what I've read in the media (not that I put too much faith in these!) of her interaction with other MPs, it appears that she is not willing to change anything anyway!
You seem to be arguing from the point of view that May is trying to obtain a deal with the EU and is failing badly. All will be much clearer to you when you realise that May has been trying to obtain a deal with the UK, and is failing badly.
Ah, gottcha - you are one of those un democratic cry babies who have never actually read what it said on the bus
