There are some garage/tool aficionados on here. (Garage queens,if you will!) just seen this come up on offer.... I have a new double garage and need to start getting some tool storage. https://www.halfords.com/workshop-t...one_time&utm_campaign=FY19_WK43_BAU485_Active I can find second hand snap on tool drawers similar spec for £170. Which one will be better value and give me a nice warm fuzzy feeling?
Ive got the pro triple stacking drawers.....brilliant - no problems so far....id thoroughly recommend them. (Halfords that is)
I have the Halfords Pro series which is good quality but what you posted isn't and it isn't. Although I hate to agree with Mr B, Snap On. Andy
A hmm snap on get a bit of a vote After posting I did find this which may be what your referring to. Seems better quality. https://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs...goryId=255214&productId=1429003&storeId=10001
Beta tools. https://www.beta-tools.com/en/products/containers-and-assortments.html What most of the race teams use. You get what you pay for but there are some fantastic offers if you shop around. I paid about 300€ including delivery (in Ducati red) for this one: https://www.beta-tools.com/en/produ...able-tool-chest-with-eight-drawers-23805.html Castor ones are similarly priced, I wanted one to go on a work bench.
I get the drift here, but how can one tool drawer be better than another? As long as it slides in & out smoothly.
I got the Halfords pro ones on special and the with the discount card even more cheaperer... had em over a year now and still think I'm a fully qualified mechanic every time I open em... Obviously snap on is better for possing with but I've let myself go of late so it's not a factor anymore...
When the company I work for had money we used snap-on and they are good quality tools. Now the company has no money we use Stahwillie they are terrible fatigue inducing crap that break a lot. For my contracting stuff I bought Halfords Advance and I place them up there with snap-on at a fraction of the price. If you are using them as garage tools for private use you will be able to pass them down from generation to generation.
It's dead simple. Snap On is far superior from a quality point of view, but much much more expensive. You get what you pay for and all that. If your a garage enthusiast then I'd say Halfords stuff is perfectly adequate. However, if I was bordering on pro and tearing down engines regularly, Snap On all the way. It's good stuff. I've still managed to split Snap On sockets at work though. But Halfords stuff is marzipan by comparison.
A lot of truth in that. But as I said, Halfords stuff is adequate for the home garage dwelling enthusiast.
lifetime guarantee with bluepoint tools too. rock up to any snapon van and they will change it, no hassle
