Single Seat Units

Discussion in 'Supersport (1974-2007)' started by Cornish Duke, Mar 3, 2013.

  1. I'm sure that there is a company in the UK that manufactures single seat units here in the Uk. Either painted or unpainted.
    Can I find them?? Nope.
HP something or other rings a bell but that's about it.......old age creeping in I rekon!!

  2. HC Racetech I believe... I've got two of their units And they're fantastic!

  3. Ive not used them, but are you thinking of 'superbikebodywork.co.uk' possibly?
    Hope this helps

  5. Cornish,

Just last night I downloaded the this photo to ask the same question - timely post. I get the feeling Ricambi Weiss or not the best quality but could be wrong. Feked do fairings but not a 900sl single seat, then there is the option of shipping form the US of A and the above Brancato.

Thought I have seen a site or company making fairings call Alamo (Not Alamo Racing) but again could be wrong. Like Cornish just wondered if someone had bought a fairing got it painted & decaled and had any good recommendations for doing this.

Just a picture of what I (we) are lusting after and another because I like it, and another because I like that one as well. (Sorry for being no help but you got some pictures)

    Cheers,

    Gaz

  6. I think it could have been an ebay seller called "the-alamo" but their current listings have put me in doubt, but will ask them if it was them who manufactured fairngs.

    Cheers,

  7. Well done Duke!! I wasn't far off LOL!!
Gaz, 2 other companies I've come across albeit in the US are Airtech and Sharkskinz, If you search old Ducati.ms posts, several mentions are made to a company in Eastern Europe or might even be Germany.
As I originally mentioned, HC Racetech was recommended a number of time when I was looking a few years ago.

  8. I think QB Carbon used to do SS/SL seat units so may be worth a phone call.

Finding the unit and getting it sprayed is relatively easy, try finding the original seat and back pad ?

  10. They can be found.

I bought a genuine, boxed, NOS SL seat unit off eBay about 18 months ago.

The seat pads sre still available from Ducati too. :upyeah:

  11. As Above Ducati still sell them along with the mounts for underneath so you don't crack the unit,

Number boards are painted and are pretty good.

  12. Anyone got the part number for the seat mounts ?

  13. Cornish,

Yes Airtech and Sharkskinz were the ones I meant shipping from US of A and more than likely Ricambi Weiss was the company you said in Eastern Europe or might even be Germany, they are also on ebay.

Numbers. From the manual I have, but as mentioned look on Stein Dinse on the free spare parts list:
    Complete seat unit - 59520221B
    LH Brkt - 83011261A
    LH Rubber - 86610111A
    RH Brkt - 83010761A
    RH Rubber - 86610131A

WAH900ss - That's it that's it, look that's it - very nice presume its a Brancato unit. I think as they say thread closed (sorry carry on if you like). Would not mind some info on the painter and cost or if you could PM would be appreciated.

I plan to get decals from "the-image-works" who I think is "the-reverend-unseemly-dogposture" on ebay. I contacted them a while ago but the reno is taking a while and have not got them yet, I think his name was Graham.

    Cheers,

    Gaz

  14. Cornish,

Yes no problem. I think I have seen that site before, must have filed it at the back of my brain.

    Cheers,

  15. Gaz92, yes it's a brancato unit, I picked it up from the stafford show apologies I don't recall what I paid for it, not the cheapest but it came with proper mounts.

The paint cost £140, Don at Boyztoyz Rayliegh Essex, would rec. but regret to report he's just retired due to poor health. Don suggested painted number boards as the decals were a "bit thin"

  16. Not the numbers but have these if any good?

  17. Thanks for that WAH900ss.
Paulk563, looking on Stein Dinse site one of the brackets looks like that but the other looks quite different, probably will buy these.

    Cheers all,

    Gaz

  18. Not quite Gaz, the image in the parts catalogue is a little misleading.

83011261A - 2 needed, front brackets, fit directly under the seat pad

83010761A - again, 2 needed, rear brackets, support the rear of the seat unit to prevent it from bearing down on the rear light.

The rubbers you mention are 86610111A - 2 off, front rubbers and, 86610131A - 2 off, rear rubbers.

    Hope that helps :upyeah:
