Highly doubtful loz, every time I've heard him he comes across in the same way. Very condescending, sighs and huffs over responses he doesn't like, you know, acts like a dick.
The £39billion will be paid no matter what. Has to be or the UK loses the ability to get loans without punitive interest rates.
It depends, at various stages both sides have said, nothing is agreed till everything is agreed The other part, is the breakdown of that figure. If it includes our eu membership fee's till March 2019 AND those obligations within the current eu financial cycle (they are 7 yearly and the current one ends december the 31st 2020) then yes those are obligations we must meet not only legally but morally too, a bit like paying the bill after a meal. What is not clear, is just what the £39 billion is actually for and how it is broken down and on that, the mistrust is well founded. There is no legal requirement to pay any leaving fee under article 50 both parties have said nothing is agreed till everything is agreed If the extra in the amount is to lube the wheels of future trade then it's questionable that we should pay to sell to them whilst they get to sell buckshee in the U.K. for free
And Denis O'Brien has no vested interests? Just another EU industrialist that sees a threat to his empire.
In that article fin one of the paragraphs says this Brigid Laffan, a professor at the European University Institute in Florence and a bete noir for Brexiteers, identified their bewilderment at Dublin’s tough approach to Brexit as a failure to take Ireland seriously as a state. “It is that lack of recognition of the right of the Irish state and its political system to take care of its own interests in this turbulent world that worries us and in a way, at times, enrages us,” she said. I think it's that mindset within the eu of trying to control the world whilst pretending to respect nations democratic votes, on that countries own future. The fact it pisses off and worries the eu and one of it's members, Ireland, is something we should take notice of as an opinion, but U.K. democratic votes are none of the eu's or Irelands business, they have chosen to stay within the gated community and we have chosen to become free of that gated and restrictive community. We recognise the republic but this vote was not about the republic, it was a national vote for the people of the uk about the U.K.'s future direction. What next, Romania telling us we can't use cash machines that make it more difficult for their people to skim cards? This is however how the eu works, it tries to convince you that your countries flag will always be blue with yellow stars and the eu is always the definitive authorising body. Even now they are still trying to remove the majority democratic U.K. vote and still think they can control us even after we have left Our country took a national vote to get a national direction, we gave that direction. Of course we should be aware of surrounding nations concerns but at the end of the day, they are not our country, our parliament or our voters so feck off and concentrate on your own country. Ask yourself this simple question, why if they say the U.K. will become a banana republic without the eu, why are they fighting so hard to destroy our democracy and keep us within the 28? Just as an aside fin, the term perfidious Albion, is derived from the French and from 1793(I know how much you like the 1700's) . If ever, absolutely ever there was a country that fitted perfidious Albion, it would be the French
