British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

  3. Jumping the gun a bit, surely that would need a bill passed that contains a backstop - 230 votes against at the last count. How can he take the Gov to court for a law they are unable to pass?

  4. Yep. When Infiniti Q30 ends soon, this will be blamed on Brexit no doubt, not the sales figures.

The main markets for this car by the way are Chine and the USA, not a free trade agreement in sight when the decision was made to build it here. Infiniti is a virtually unknown brand in Europe.

  5. Although they can't get it passed, it is likely if they do a deal it will include some form of backstop. A few of us mentioned this breaks the gfa before. The point he is probably challenging is that the government agreed to a backstop when they appear to have had no legal right too.

It will be interesting to see where this goes.

  6. Be explicit

    Stop hiding

  7. It’s as if making cars with different engine options is difficult or new?

  8. I was explicit and my words are those that you repeated. If you want to read something else into it, having seen your posts, I won't be surprised.

  9. Assuming an independent Scotland immediately joins the EU then yes, crack on with the hard border.

SNP are talking about EFTA membership though. I expect that also means a hard border

So for me, the hard border at Calais will be interesting.

Incidentally, its you that’s two faced since you claimed a hard border would be chaos in 2014

Chop chop with your answer to my question regarding institions

  10. What are you on about?

  13. Most cars are produced as petrol and diesel. Some even have an LPG option or a direct injection option. I expect nissans current production here is both petrol and diesel.

It suits them to fudge the issue if they have any hope of hanging onto their government grant. Especially since many people blame the government for promoting diesel

Additionally, do they really want to alienate the 52% of people that voted for Brexit?

Not like young people buy nissans

  14. I was right about the institutions

You don't see the double standard of saying the U.K. can't leave as it will lead to a hard border and we need to consider our neighbours...with , yeah fuck the rest of the U.K. us scots are happy with a hard border if we leave?

    Hardly, I wasn't here in 2014

you have your answer but I am perplexed of what these institions are that you speak?

  15. Which EU institutions do you want to leave?

Scotland isn’t NI. There is no peace agreement to respect. So I don’t see what the problem is?

  16. Grandmother was Irish

Girlfriend of many years from Ballymoney

Her father was very senior in the security services. In his words “could have just as easily joined the IRA” and “left the RUC because I got fed up charging Catholic’s”. Had his arm broken on Bloody Sunday.

And I have read many books by people from both sides
