  4. Well, it worked and no bleeding knuckle. But I'm glad attempt 1 was on the track bike wheels. IMAG0112.jpg

  5. Keep it for the next time. But....... if you want to sell it, and if it fits a 748/916/996, I’ll buy it off you. I was just about to order one anyway as I can’t work out a way to hold the basket while I loosen the nut. (I’ve no rear wheel at the moment, so can’t hold the brake.)

  6. Use gaffa tape for fitting - tie wraps for removal

  7. If you have a spare steel clutch plate you cold weld or bolt a handle to it, like mine. Trouble is @AirCon doesn't like me saving money. ;)

  12. Been to London on the train - the woman behind was on the phone telling someone about how the grievance (not hers) went yesterday and what their next steps should be - no names but how did she know that a friend / relation of the person involved wasn't on the train listening and put two and two together

  13. I decided to join Alcoholics Anonymous today.

  14. I've recently had terrible trouble with my internet provider.

I phoned them this morning about an issue we have with our system and the woman said: "Good morning - How can I help?"

" I'm having trouble with my Router." I replied.

She said: "What lights do you have on?"

    "The hallway and the kitchen."

Anyway, they're sending a technician round to have a look

  16. Agree. You never know who’s listening (or looking at your screen!) and where the info might go. Walls have ears and all that.

  17. It's for a wet clutch Paul. I'll just keep it, it'll come in handy in the future.

You need one of these for your 916 variant clutch. There are cheaper ones, but the Oberon ones are very well made. I have one for my dry clutch bikes.

Keegan had some very funny stories and is someone you could listen to all day. :)

  19. Judging by the rust that was on my clutch plates I’m assuming my 748 is running a wet clutch so yours will do nicely :p.

In actuality the rust was surface and was cleaned off last summer when she was recommissioned. Now I need to pull out the basket and clean behind that. Thanks for the link and one’s been ordered now. :upyeah:

  20. This can happen with an open clutch cover if you leave it wet after washing the bike.

I once had a 1098 sieze solid and I had to strip the clutch plates out of it to free if off. o_O Now I lean the bike over to the RHS to get the water out of the clutch housing after washing my bikes and get my pet dryer on the job. :upyeah:
