recently got my 1299 and the exhaust is just too loud. It’s been cored out and decatted. Also for sale (shameless plug lol) Anyway I was looking at options and thought maybe a 899/1199 temagnoni slip ons underbelly and just my fabricator to make up a suitable Y pipe etc to fit. Never seen this done before on 1299? Wondering how it will sound as videos of 899’s just don’t bring the noise enough I think however the only exhaust I’ve heard on video that sounds good is the Arrow underbelly titanium slip on. Anyone shed some advice on these two options? Will be going on track so must be able to fit db killer or worst case I’ll buy stock cans for track. Thanks
Why not fitting some dB killers to the one you have? Try MHP exhaust if you need some bespoke killers
I have the termi underbelly slip ons on my 1299 , my 998s has a full termi system and my 999s has a termi system on the largest headers termi does for the 999 and the 1299 is apocalyptically loud compared to the other two , I love it but some wouldn't stick it ! Regards
I bought an 1199 Termi Slipon to do exactly that over the winter. However the diameter on the 1199/899 system is much smaller than the 959/1299, so you would just be strangling the exhaust. Have to agree. Unless you are overly concerned by saving a bit of weight or really want the look, the standard exhaust is very good at its job.
I’m actually waiting on a stock full exhaust system I bought for pennies on the dollar. I’ll be gutting it and have it enamel coated. Something like this.
Oh really? I actually called ducati to ask them this and they advised it was the same internal diameter but that’s useful information
At the flange where the headers join the under belly section it is was visibly smaller. I offered the 959 flange up to the 1199 one and realised it wasn’t worth messing with. Also, you just have to look at the loop under the seat of an 1199 vs a 1299 to see the header diameter is smaller as well.
Ahh ok, as I was just looking to do slip on the only diameter issue would be inside the actual cans so no pipework involved. Did you still have the termis unused then??
I was planning exactly the same, but the diameter where you would connect is significantly different. I personally thought it looked too restrictive going from the 1299/959 headers to the Termi slipons, and not worth the effort.
I have a full 1299 exhaust that I may sell if it’s any good to you. It’s covered 1500 miles from new.
