Yup, we’d be like Italy ! Or Belgium, or Sweden etc .Very small tails wagging large dogs, no thanks. We just need a human being leading the blues and a human being leading the reds. As for the yellows, a human being younger than 60 with a functioning brain would work. One good thing about Brexit is that it’s been an almighty shaking of the tree. Politics in this country will never be the same again.
I'd hope we would be as sucessful at increasing our peoples lot as Sweden but you are right we could become more like the Italians. I hope you are right about Brexit shaking up the apathy shown towards politics and voting. Wouldn't hurt and could well be a tonic.

I'm struggling to understand if tonight's vote has changed anything....the next vote on May's deal will be no change, it won't go through. So, is there a majority to: Rule out a "No Deal Brexit" - Could be close Delay Article 50 - I don't think so. Hold a 2nd Referendum - Again, I think not. When May's deal gets voted down again, what then? I think we hit stalemate. Will May have the balls or ability to make it my deal or No deal Brexit, or long delay to Article 50? The EU has the ability to change the dynamic. Just the right backstop concession and they could get the deal they want. Will they make this late change for the sake of EU business and to move things on? Why would the EU 27 agree to extend Article 50, what will change in another 3-6-9 months? And the mess of MEP elections. I think they may say no and call the UK's bluff on no deal. MP's are siding with business lobbyists and not the wishes of the UK public. I believe our poll is not so wrong and that there is a majority (55%?) that just want out, even with a few months of chaos. Rather depressing position to be in.
We should send this bloke over to Brussels as our new chief negotiator. Backstop removed immediately and the EU agreeing to pay us £39bn.
My dad used to be one of the Guvnors in the main PO sorting office off Upper Street which got converted into flats 15 years ago. When I was a nipper many hours were spent in the basement there playing snooker on a full size championship table standing on a chair. I can still play a bit ! The Government cannot delay Article 50 without the agreement of the EU. they can however withdraw Article 50 without any consultation with the EU.

January the 1st 1999 and 11 countries. That's when the 11 countries turned their back on their own countries historic currency and went over to the euro. Hands up who thought it went great at midnight and never had a problem for a few years till things settled down?
