So, I have had a few beers, well a lot of beers so this post might be a little odd. Went to the Excel and was disappointed. A small hall with not a lot to entertain although I did manage to get a slot at the Ducati day at Silverstone (Donnington sold out) and Carole bought some stuff. Carole got on the internet to find somewhere to eat. We both adore Spanish tapas so headed back towards Waterloo for a tapas bar in Bermondsey Street. All I can say is wow. Ice cold Estrella on tap and some of the most delicious authentic tapas we have ever had in the UK. 5 pints later headed back to Wateloo to go home. Well, home after another pint Delivering a group riding skills course in the morning oh dear ! Andy
After a £4 million machine installation at work for a new Evoque component manufacturing cell there were a few bits left over. The contractors let me have this 5.8m long 250mm deep I section beam After cutting it to the required 5.4m we loaded it into my van on a 40T crane and 4 people - only stuck out the back a little and I only had 34 miles to get home so all good. Had to unload it all on my own though which was a bit of a struggle at 170 kilos It will support the wooden beam in the centre of the roof that has started to sag after 12 years and work as a lifting beam when needed, well happy now it's at home
Don't tell me .... Ducati marketing... Please tell me that loads of scramblers were melted down to make it....
Never mind the sagging roof, what you going to do about the ready to buckle walls with that bit lump on it?
They won't budge - they is well chunky walls at 70mm thick. Will be having 2 uprights though (that I have my eye on) for when it's loaded / lifting (might be able to strap 2 bikes to it to get more in)
You should lose some weight then fatty. If you were fitter, maybe you's wouldn't have huffed and puffed as much. However do you get to be 26st?
Stop pinching AC's jokes, which aren't actually funny when you realise he actually does weigh that and you're not so far off yersen
I took the shell off my pet snail today to see if it would make him go faster. Didn't work though. If anything, it made him more sluggish.
You’re going to have to rest/support it on something, a couple of old bikes? And dig some foundations for the supports, got anything you want to bury? A burnt out 1098R ?
We’ve done a few errands today culminating in going for the demo (aka snagging) at our new house in readiness for moving next week. I have to say the builder was really good and I think we only found half a dozen things that need looking at.
It is strong enough without supports, just going belts and braces with 2 supports sat on the 6" of concrete and 6 " of hard core - it would take 5 times that weight even without the supports
