?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

  2. Hey, let them blame it on Brexit  bless them :joy:

  3. Just my opinion but I think

    “La la lala la

It's all because of Brexit “

    applies too.

  4. Don't forget France.

Ford’s Bordeaux gearbox factory will close in August 2019, and the company will consolidate its UK headquarters and Ford Credit Europe’s headquarters at the Dunton Technical Centre in Essex.

  5. Honda have just announced , the closure has NOTHING to do with Brexit.

  6. Im not necessarily suggesting this is the entire reason, but Honda are Japanese, So given that the EU has just completed a free trade agreement with Japan, something thats been in discussions for some time, isn't it obvious that Japan would have moved more jobs back home to sure up its own economy?

Its easy to blame Brexit now, and whilst that may have made decisions easier, or given reason to blame, a free trade deal with Japan was always going to take some work back home as I'm sure their under the same pressures from their own government to create job security for its own citizens.

As such isn't it plausible to simply say whether it was now or in 2020 (as per the announcement) that Brexit or not that EU deal would have lost jobs here in the UK?

Had we stayed, and not had a referendum, but Japanese companies still close certain EU bases to move jobs back home, would people point the finger at Juncker et al?

  7. As with many of the decisions being made in the automotive industry at the moment, if Brexit had not happened, the automotive industry would have still made the same decisions.

The whole industry is in trouble, in europe much of that comes down to two things, rising higher emission standards that current engines are having trouble matching and dieselgate. Add to this the wish to remove combustion engines, the electrification plus the over production in a reducing market and you have this current situation.

remainers will try and blame everything on brexit because they have nothing else, it becomes even more of a falsehood when you look at the claim and see every country outside of europe is having this exact same problem too.

Honestly I despair at some extreme remainers, how they ever left the womb is beyond me given they do not like change

one thing this decision proves and something most brexiteers have said all along, if you base your democracy around business, business could do the dirty on you at ANY time as it holds no allegiance to anyone other than shareholders.

  8. I don't think that, it was a tongue in cheek comment as no one in their right mind would think only Labour voters prefer Remain...

  9. It was 70% apparently

  10. And the basis for this assumption is?

I agree that the whole industry is in trouble but not for the reasons you claim. Joe Public will buy any old shit IF they have the money and/or the confidence that they will have a job in the long term to give them money to buy any old shit. Saying that dieselgate, removal of combustion engines and electrification of vehicles is the root of all this is absolute hogwash.

Every other country in Europe is having the same issues because they don't have the confidence that they once had because of Brexit.

This I agree with. Market forces will always dictate where a company's allegiance is.

  11. A year ago the Japanese Ambassador had meetings with May at No.10. This is what was said then in most media.

"HONDA and other Japanese firms will pull out of Britain if the Government fails to secure free access to the EU market, according to the country’s ambassador.

The car giant, which has a manufacturing plant in South Marston, was among firms that sent top executives to discuss Brexit at a Downing Street meeting.

The ambassador’s comments raised the prospect of thousands of jobs being lost if the Government fails to negotiate a frictionless trade deal.

Koji Tsuruoka was asked after Thursday’s meeting if companies would leave Britain if there was no agreement. He replied: "If there is no profitability of continuing operations in the UK - not Japanese only - then no private company can continue operations.

“It is as simple as that. This is all high stakes that all of us, I think, need to keep in mind."

Mr Tsuruoka said manufactures in particular “expected” free access to the EU market."

There will not be Free access to the EU, we all know that.

  12. No one is pretending it’s directly and wholly related to Brexit. What is undoubtedly true is that it’s a factor.

It seems that the world is sliding towards recession so why is it a good idea to choose now as a good time to make trade more difficult? It’s exactly the wrong time.

  13. And that surprises you?

That’s the marketing department filter ensuring Honda doesn’t become Ratners and lose half its customer base
