British Indy: What Happens Now?

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. And there you Brexitards have the answer-

What did happen to those who argued for and/or funded Brexit?

Farage? Johnson? Duncan Smith? Dyson? Aaron Banks?

Either they ran a mile to fill their own pockets or did the opposite to what they wanted others to do or their links to Russia got embarrassing or their lies were found out.

If Brexit fails they are the ones you Brexitards should be after.

  4. well Blairs probably got cheques from the eu coming in still on one hand and viewing a soon to be empty labour leaders post

Chukka useless has just committed political suicide. Worthy of note that he wants a peoples second vote but not on him resigning his labour seat and running for it again as an independent and Nick, Oh Nicky boy, went to facebook for many many millions of pounds

  5. Agreed, and they'd be waiting to see how things get resolved over the coming months before making any investment decisions that can be delayed without compromising their business.
After Brexit, there could be lower Corporation tax and other incentives that could make the UK more attractive. Just so many unknowns right now.

  7. I'm going round in circles now, which one is this

  8. Hmm democratic, perhaps if you ignore the gerrymandered and illegal electioneering... I would concede however that there was clearly a great deal of dissatisfaction with the EU and that something had to change.

The fact that you believe that this is is the fault of people like me who were sceptical that leave could deliver on their promises is laughable in the extreme. Of course we did not 'believe' enough. You'll be telling us next the earth is flat.

  9. Chris George said:

Leaving the EU will not help our balance of trade in products, however, it will certainly harm our positive balance in trade in services. - There will be immediate impact but depending on the trade deal negotiated, many UK companies may find alternative UK suppliers or others outside the EU. Most tariffs will be nil or below 5% so VS FX movements it won't necessarily have such a dramatic impact on trade figures.

Leaving the single market will diminish the attractiveness of UK manufacturing to worldwide companies. - I'm not so sure; we can be pretty aggressive in incentivising companies to come and base themselves here with grants/tax breaks, etc. Our employment laws and ease of doing business make us an attractive base and with the coming AI revolution, we can grasp opportunities with great flexibility and without the EU interfering.

Those three facts are obviously correct. - I'm glad you've joined the debate as you are at least putting up some valid points, albeit open to future unknowns. Please don't fall into James O'Briens irritating use of "absolute facts" when in reality it's just opinions.

A trade deal with the EU was offered to the UK, but clearly May has promised manufactures something 'better' which is why we have her botched deal which has been democratically rejected.- One of the inherent problems we've had, was the way the EU laid out the negotiating agenda; we're settling a divorce without them permitting any meaningful (and legally binding) agreements on the trade deal. May's deal will leave us in a very poor position to negotiate from. So the clean break leaves a few more cards and some £ billions, to negotiate with. The EU is heading towards recession and they will have their minds focussed if we leave without the deal signed.

  11. Questions to Remainers:
    1) Do you really think we have a good future within the EU with the forthcoming changes (majority voting, common tax regime, Army, etc). They will also continue to try and nobble London's dominant position as the financial centre of the EU.
    2) What are the key impacts that you think the UK will suffer from once we have left and things have stabilised, assuming we leave without a deal?

  12. Can we have a vote on having a referendum about rolling the thread about votes and referendums into one big thread about the referendum?

  16. Chris, don’t expect sensible debate and to win any arguments with logic, facts and truth.
All you will get in response is cries of fake news and project fear.
If you get insults thrown at you, that’s when you know you’re doing well.

  17. That's not quite true

but again whilst you are here :D

If remain had won 51.9% to 48.1% would you think that majority was enough to say you won and leave should respect that

What would you think of those leavers who would have said "but remain never said what type of remain" for nearly 3 years?
