First run out of the year, took the 350 Yam Sherburn was quite busy... sunny when I set off, misty there, sunny when I got back fun though
There are plenty of people that live here and want it to be mild all the time. Those people need to shut up or move. This weather is why we have snowmobile manufacturers, ski resorts, 4 wheel drive vehicles, massive snow removal maintenance vehicles, ice fishing, dogsledding, etc...without snow all those activities and related businesses suffer. We only got a couple inches of snow last night. Southern Minnesota isn't fairing so well and is still in the thick of it. At our place it's windy, sunny, and beautiful outside. Looks like a good day for a snowmobile ride.
Trial at Wensley near Leyburn. Boy is outgrowing the small course and wants me to get a bike and do the Big course with him
Had the 900ss Bevel out for a run went down to Morton on Marsh , Broadway then Stratford Caught up with 2 Valentino Rossi wannabes on R1s colour matched leathers all the gear but couldn't ride the bikes fast on the straights slow around corners
Took the 600ss out to get some petrol and a quick spin - the neutral light was on (even when not in neutral ) at the start but it seems to have mended itself by the end (?oil getting hot and thinner?).
Not much room in the hallway there! Word of warning, I had/have a Halfords trickle charger, had it for years. Maybe it’s given up the ghost now but it was supposed to be maintaining the battery on my 748, went to start it a few weeks back - nothing - click click click. Turns out the battery was completely dry. The “trickle charger” had boiled it all away. No acid damage to the bike or floor from the breather pipe, just boiled all the acid away. Keep an eye on it. On a better note. I refilled the battery with distilled water, connected it to my Optimate 4 and it’s now fixed & fully recharged. The Optimate cost me €70 a new battery would have been €95.
Set fire to myself . Accidentally. I was talking to SWMBO, a pot of water was heating up on the stove in preparation for supper, ‘hmmmm, something’s burning. Can you smell it?’ I said to SWMBO. Turned around to have a look. ‘OMG’ she goes, ‘you’re on fire!’ Sure enough my padded outdoor, keep you warm, work shirt had caught fire. ‘FUCK....’ What was the worst bit was the polyester padding and polyester lining just became like molten fecking lava, all over my hand as we tried to get it off. A narrow escape, but feck me, burns hurt. I’ve had the odd small burn from cooking and the like but this was on another scale! Anyway, at least I’m excused washing up duties for a few days and thank goodness I had a T-shirt on underneath.
Well today I’m back in the office full time for the first time since I went to Morzine a month ago (I had two odd days in but couldn’t be arsed going in anymore because of an hour and a half commute/man flu over the past month) Today will be tough :/
