My brother who spends three months a year in NZ buys expensive stuff. Let's just say that, however he has the habit of using this undefined kit. With low spec other stuff; this annoys me. It actually really annoys me, I'd go as far as swear repeatedly at him. And because I am gadget wise (undoubtedly wrong on occasion) he has over the course of years. Realized the error of his ways & read up on good brands. Or ultimately seek moral courage & ask a friend. @Steviegtr are using expensive stuff, with cheap stuff. This combination can result in failure of said kit. I offered a brand of power-packs made to UK spec, and the newer model can be recharged via the type-C usb port. Unlike my model which requires a 240V socket. I hope in the long-run that you don't suffer untoward problems bud.
I've a pair of Anker branded power packs that have been great for ages. Not that I need them now as my new phone has a stonking battery that lasts days and has supercharge (which I've hooked up on the bike too). If your GoPro is going to be that awkward though, I'd have a proper moan at them and shop elsewhere. It's meant to record whilst charging, sounds like a fob off
Been doing tests at home today with power & microphone plugged in. Left downloading while we are out at squires.will see results later tonight.
Huawei Mate 20 Pro... Battery lasts 2 days of normal usage (email, text and calls). I got an entire day of Netflix whilst travelling... 11 hour odd and got home with battery spare. Supercharging is insane, 70% in under 30 mins and a full battery from. Dead in an hour (90-100% slows down for battery life or something)
Ah the brother in law got one of those last week. He loves it, reckons he only needs to charge it every 3 to 4 days, with little use. Only trouble he has had so far is, local Chinese keep delivering meals Ai built in. Joke.
SWMBO recently bought a Motorola and she gets the same life out of hers. It's just Apple that take the piss with battery life.
I have the galaxy s8 myself. Can go 2 days without charge but usually plug it in each night. Saturday used it for Bluetooth audio recording. Did 2 hrs. Battery was still 65% so not bad. Sounds like that Huawei isn't bad though & cheapish.
Chinese have been building electronics for years and gotten rather good at it... What apple have is a good sales team.
Exactly this. A few years ago I did a week long trip round the Alps on a Diavel. I had a cigarette socket with USB adapter on a long lead that I fed into my tent so I could charge my phone and intercom each night, as well as use a blower to pump up my airbed. I worked out it would take something like three months of continuous use for the battery to be flattened. My suggestion would be a cigarette socket wired directly to the battery terminals. I've used a similar solution on loads of bikes. Really convenient, simple, and cheap.
