Which Filler?

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by Cornish Duke, Apr 16, 2012.

  1. My nose (bike not me) has various stone chips in the numberboard as well as a patch roughly 1" square where the laquer has flaked away. The plane is to fill and sand the relevant patches and apply a vinyl aftermarket numberboard over the top. Cheap I know but will look a damn site more presentable than it does now. Anyway, for such a shallow fill, what would be the recommended filler to use? or would it be a case of sanding the whole thing down as flat as possible??

  2. I've been doing some repairs on my fairing and Arquebus on this site recommended David's Isopon P38. It's easy to manipulate and easy to sand down when hardened. I repaired some shallow and deep cracks with this stuff. Maybe even filler primer may help?

  3. Per above, for filling something that shallow, you may get away with a few coats of 'filler primer' or 'spray putty'.

  4. Thanks chaps :upyeah:
