749 Translogic Quickshift Help!!

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by Daniel Abbott, Mar 2, 2019.

  1. Hi does anyone have any experience fitting a translogic quickshift to a 749?

  2. Not a 749 but just fitted one to my 998.

I’m having trouble with the gear linkage, I can’t make what they’ve sent me into what I need!

  4. Aren’t those the different length shafts so the gubbins can fit on the gear linkage for road shift.
Sorry but the one I fitted was for race shift. The wiring and fitting will probably be the same though...

  5. 142BAC4C-BD37-4B06-BC0C-A35BE904DE0A.jpeg I’ll need two rod ends and I can only take one off the old linkage I’ve purchased two new ones but just realised ones LH thread!

  6. Take it if you rotate the original rod and use the short rod then screw the rose joint directly into the sensor its still not going to do? its a pitty one of your rose joints are fixed, Just fitted the translogic to my SF but it was straight forward,

Edit, bit slow with my reply lol

  7. Unfortunately not the long part of my original linkage+sensor+rose=4” too long with no adjustment!

    I also went race shift

  9. I take it those rod ends are from your original linkage?

  10. Yep they are mate, Like you say, Ones left and ones right hand thread, most bikes is just 2 rose joints and the rod, Im pretty sure that your translogic 749 kit is identical to the 1098/ streetfighter, once on you will be very happy, its quality

  11. Just to add I just checked what was on my old 999s and the original linkage is the same as yours

  12. Nelly on here recommended the translogic shifter when I asked for advice and im delighted I asked (thanks Nelly), Other advice I was giving was double check the base settings on the translogic ecu are all dead centre as they work very well there (and they sure do) also avoid short shifting at low revs, My settings were a very small amount out

  13. Thanks mate, I take it yours was just plug and play no cutting or splicing?

  14. Yep plug and play, once you have the linkage sorted it will only take an hour, Did you buy the kit for your bike or planning to use a universal kit that needs wiring spliced etc, I wouldn't go cutting/ spicing wiring imho

  15. It’s supposed to be specifically for the 749 but the fact the rod kit doesn’t match up makes me worry a bit I haven’t started with the wiring yet

  16. Ok so I’ve wired/plugged it in, but I’m still waiting for the LH/RH rose’s to put the linkage together, my question is how do I know it’s working? There’s a green LED that lights when triggered but does it only trigger at certain revs? I’ve had the bike running and compressed the sensor and no green light?

  17. Take it you've connected the correct connector out the 2 (push and pull)?

  18. Yup, I’m a push guy!! I did try a pull as well nothing happened I’m assuming the ecu knows your at low revs and doesn’t cut out? I was on my own so couldn’t throttle-look at the LED-compress/pull at the same time

  19. Give me 10 mins I will just go look at mine as I know its spot on and led works perfect,

  20. Right mate, What you will have to do Is compress your sensor first then turn on your ignition while watching and your green led will light up only for one second,
If you turn on your ignition then press the sensor it wont light, I spoke to translogic about this but couldn't mind, they told me that these new systems are designed to use next to no power at all in use
