why are you making stuff up again? the snp are arguing you stay in the SM and CU because you will be broke otherwise, who wants peasants as neighbors as trade tends happen locally.. Not made up, the snp's historical core is to leave the U.K. brexit or not. and the greens and 40% of labour votors but trade wont stop. not unless broke Britain thinks it can do without 60bill of trade annually.
we wont be using the euro. Maybe not at the beginning but it would make sense too. You can't use the U.K. pound as you would have left the U.K.. Starting your own currency would be a very big risk and this tender bit highlights the risk of propping up a new currency till it reaches an settled market value Although it's the telegraph it is an article by who said Professor Ronald MacDonald, research professor of macroeconomics and international finance at Glasgow University’s Adam Smith Business School, said tens of billions of pounds in foreign exchange reserves would have to be raised to protect the currency from economic shocks and speculators. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politic...-warned-new-scottish-currency-would-cost-300/ aye, the telegraph, they where telling us just last week( in its english edition only) about how oil will save brexit brittain. having the biggies, oil, whisky, renewables and now that fresh water is becoming valuable, raising foreign reserves aint an issue. anybody can use the pound, its an international tradeable currency. the irish used it for long enough, the problem with using the pound now is with us looking likely to leave the uk and you guys leaving the EU, it aint gonna be worth jack. hence they are moving away from using it.
bitter together mk2 says we cant. obviously starting to panic. I won't happen anyway if it is a democratic vote in a generation then it has to be respected. . yip, it would of been and most of us would of been happy with that. but the uk party's blew it. first with smith, then with the scotland act, then with brexit. then with the way its being handled. tough titty.
This will make you chuckle fin given the eu says we must pay out bills when we leave https://www.theguardian.com/politic...-agency-loses-bid-to-end-uk-lease-over-brexit or if you won't read the papers European Medicines Agency loses battle to end UK lease over Brexit. The European Medicines Agency has lost a high court battle to cancel its £500m long-term office lease in London to move to Amsterdam because of Brexit.
Mr Macron is suggesting some changes alright, although I'm not sure whether he's saying them for anyone's protection other than his own https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/mar/04/europe-brexit-uk
He's most certainly a slippery bugger, and whilst there's shite politicians the world over having fingers pointed at them, Mr Macron is one to watch
He's shitting his pants knowing Le Penn is expected to take many of the French seats in the european mep elections in May, he can't blame brexit for the yellow vests
I moved and there was a number of very small jobs that I found it very easy to be distracted from so I took a break away from the forum for a lil while to get them all done. Forums can be very distracting. Never been skiing, I know I'd fall over a lot and I prefer jack daniels for that
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-47444299 Interested in peoples thoughts on this ? Is Macron saying the EU should change to keep the UK ? I did notice this bit He describes the EU as "not just an economic market" but a "project", before going on to set out his "roadmap for the EU". which, I think, a lot of people see as the problem - countries joined for the 'economic market' but it has become more than that ?
I feel he exemplifies why the eu is failing and why we were right to leave. Ignoring he is just electioneering for the euro mep elections in a few months, they also had the brexit result in 2016, they also saw since 2016 the reasons and one of the strongest was the eu project is going down a centralist federal direction that not everyone wants to go down. In 2016 you had people like tusk saying, we need to learn from brexit and make changes to the eu project, you also had several of the key leaders saying the same thing. Nearly 3 years later all the eu has actually done is exposed its nastier side to the public and little to no change has actually happened. Now the elections are coming, they bring out the "we can change" mantra again, people have wised upto this.
Has Macron explained that pepper-spraying people sitting in wheelchairs is part of the planned changes? Or is that just an unexpected benefit of the federalisation process?
between that and the actions of the spannish police it has shaken up some pro remain people, but it does also demonstrate the EU's position in not interfering in domestic politics
Very true, personally I think for a lot of people it doesn’t impact their daily lives. Same could be said of who is in government - to many it makes no difference ?
You could go further, Alan. If people would just wind their necks in, stay out of politics and let the self-appointed leaders lead, we would all be better off. Plot twist: I now vote we Remain. The EU has made great strides in methodologies for keeping ordinary folk out of the business of governing, it has shown us the way. I'm convinced.
utter bollox, how did so many talentless kippers and Spanish Partido Popular representatives to name just some of the nobodys in the EU, get elected?
But it's fun interesting ? I don't believe you Remaining would be better than the WA though (or is it the same thing)
